It flashed, rebooted, erase circle on screen, then shutdown. Never got to the Mbox screen.
Now it is hard bricked. PC doesn't detect it when plugged into USB. Red light only.
Have not seen a blue light since it shutdown.

It's back from the dead. Nand mask method worked...

Here are the steps for anyone in a similar situation.

      1) PC: Open Rockchip Batch Tool, load firmware image (I chose a 7.1 image)
      2) MX10: Connect HDMI to monitor. Short eMMC pads (photo 1), at same time press reset switch, then plug USB OTG into PC
      3) PC: beeps. MX10 appears as yellow icon in Batch Tool.
      4) MX10: release short and reset switch
      5) PC: flash image.
      6) MX10: When flash finishes, MX10 reboots.
... Erase circle appears on screen (for about 5 secs),
... Mbox logo comes on screen (for about 5 minutes),
... Screen changes to warning not to turn power off (for about 5 minutes)
      ... UI screen appears.

I had to try step 2 a few times before it worked. You may need an extra pair of helping hands.

      Cheers,
      Jack.

Same thing here - tried to flash the 8.1 image several times using both the FactoryTool and BatchTool. Doesn't work. What happened is exactly the same UncleJack already wrote - "flashed, rebooted, erase circle on screen, then shutdown. Never got to the Mbox screen". I also tried to flash several 7.1 images - they all work.

Leave it connected to PC and use power pack.
What tool did you use to flash it? Could you explain it step by step?

I also used this tool, even tried several different versions. There was no any errors during the flash process but at the end the MX10 was not able to boot with the 8.1 image - after the MX10 logo the blue led turns to red and that was it. It always works fine when 7.1 images are used. Just don't get it - are there any known differences in the hardware used in MX10?

Is the 8.1 image rooted.. or did you even have time to find out?

I never got an 8.1 image to work. The three 7.1 images I've tried are imperfectly rooted, i.e. the su binary is present and usable, but SuperSu won't install.

So it seems that the 8.1 image is not compatible with any MX10 box. While someone like trebor managed to flash the 8.1 image without any problems, others like you and me can't do it. Is there any particular reason for that? Different hardware revisions?

I got a rooted 7.1.2 fw that works. I also installed the TWRP.img posted here in RC 3328 forum. I used an app called Rashr from the playstore to install it

Version 8.1 works? is it stable?

Is it proposed to upgrade to this version?

Worked Ok here but some have had issues..
when you flash it leave it connected PC etc , it will reboot once or twice then continue to load etc...

                        Be Patience with it

It only works on the new MX10 that gets shipped with Android 8 already.
Flashing it on older devices will brick your device.

If you mean clear apps from memory just hold down home button and find the app you want to clear and press down on d-pad and ok. As for bluetooth no one has it.. were all sol.
