there are news regarding a new version with widevine support?
thank you for the information!
phil.
You can try this to run Netflix 720p and Amazon Video.
There are also lots of German addons in the RB repo, can also install Kodinerds repo for more addons.
Read the 1st post to install LibreELEC to a microsd card and this post to enable Widevine support.
Everything is still wip, so hope in future it can play more smoothly. http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...119#post714119
Need to use a wifi airmouse/remote or USB keyboard/mouse until a new IR remote driver is made.
Now that LibreELEC testing is done, I can work on the new Android ROM again.
Hi, i have just bought this tvbox and I have some questions about this ROM:
-what are the real difference with latest stock ROM?(I mean better performance, better WiFi specc ecc.. Not the list of patches included)
-can I install this using another method? For example from SDcard, I don't have a male male cable

thank you for your work
A male to male USB cable is the easiest way to install it and very cheap.
It would take me weeks to make ota zip updates and it's difficult.
If you are happy with the stock firmware, it should work well and there is no reason to upgrade unless you want extra features.
The stock firmware is also in the process of becoming Google Certified to get L1 DRM status.
Some tests still need to pass and get fixed.
It should help a lot with streaming app compatibility in future.

I do not have time to test LibreELEC yet. could you please put the rooted firmware online. is there any news regarding google widevine drm?
many thanks!
phil.
LibreELEC - To play 23.976fps perfectly and for software decoding 720p Netflix(still not smoothly since more improvements are needed)
New firmware will have improved root.
I see Kodi is also adding DRM support for Android(WIP), then you can play Netflix inside Kodi soon, but it uses the firmware's DRM drivers.
Android Oreo test results for DRM was sent to Google, so waiting for results.
Also AndroidTV Oreo in development, not sure if Google will require this instead, then the test results will have to be redone and sent to them.
I see I only uploaded unrooted version for v1.3
For v1.4 You can root/unroot yourself, no need for 2 different firmwares one rooted and one unrooted anymore.
I just have to double check that everything is working before I upload it.
