The instructions say to use installed Update & Recovery app. One slight snag: it doesn't exist!
Edit: rename to update.zip; copy to SD card; and install through recovery.
would never buy another Tanix.

Just received my TX28 and I cannot download many apps either. Any ideas for a work around?

Same problem here won't let me download hardly any apps from play store.

Shockingly bad stock ROM.
Random crashes and reboots. Google Play will only allow me to download half of my apps - for example I can't download MX Player (no internet connection message) but can download MX Player Pro! Security patch April 2017.

Sweet, thanks tReboR, waiting for the detailed review. I don't think I've ever seen a Cdtech W-Fi chip before.

Hi tЯeboЯ, will you be doing any teardown or review of the box? Am interested on how this will compare to the Alfawise Z28 Pro you've reviewed. That was one sweet box with 2T2R WiFi chip, but lacking in general workmanship. Tanix usually makes excellent product, and their box is priced 50% more expensive so quite interested in build quality.
