Throw your box away and get Amlogic TVbox if you want custom ROMs, RockChip you are stuck with what the manufacturer gives you. The RockChip boxes are almost identical boards and you could experiment and try other vendors firmwares to see if they run better. Always a chance you'll brick your device doing that though, fair warning )
