Are you sure it came rooted? Could you dump the recovery partition for me (or maybe the whole firmware image)?
Mine came non-rooted, so I can't do that on mine yet. But if I can get a hold on a rooted image, I can root mine and provide you with my original non-rooted image. That might solve your issues
