Where to buy the USB2GO Cable needed to Flash this box...

Bought this box almost 2 years ago, crashed yesterday and shut itself off, won't reboot. Figure need to reflash, not new to this kind of stuff, but bought from Gearbest, wait, here's exactly what I bought with US Power Adaptor...

Problem is, no USB2GO cable, nor is it listed, which, up until yesterday, wasn't a problem, box worked great, yeah, if I had cable, would have went to Lollipop etc, but if it ain't broke, why fix it thinking. So yesterday, mid TV Show on Kodi, box shut itself down, no warning, just powered off and won't reboot, LED will flicker, but only briefly when you plug it in or try to power it on, but can't hook it to PC to try and reflash etc without stupid Male to Male USB2GO cable, and not having any luck finding one. Talked to UGOOS.NET Chat specialist, yawn, offered to send and sell me cable for $26 with shipping, anybody else know where to find this cable or by this cable? Poked around usual suspects, E-bay, Amazon, Cablestogo, etc etc, not seeing a USB Male 2.0 to USB male 2.0 Host cable, only USB to Micro, which. even with adaptor, suspect will not work. Already tried standard USB extension cable, know that ain't working, just wondering if anybody has this cable and knows where I can get one other than UGOOS is all...

    Thanx in advance!!!!

Or make your own if you have the Bits and can Solder
Male to Male a to a USB Cable: Thought not that common, male to male A-A USB cables are used to connect USB devices to a PC or another USB device. My old USB Hub need it for external power supply to provide full power to every port.

Not impossible for sure, problem with cable is not a standard USB male to male, has to have USB2GO, which in a male A to Male A just not seeing anywhere, most all USB2GO stuff I'm seeing is USB A to USB Micro, have more than one male A to male A extension, no go, know USB2GO has a pin soldered, just would rather buy it than make a franken cable. Have to check power supply numbers, good chances, with a all the gadgets I have, well, maybe have one with same settings (one who dies with most toys type here, lol) , but as Box has KitKat, well, if I can get it back, be nice to have needed cable to tinker with Roms I have seen, Lollipop etc, till yesterday, box worked almost flawlessly. Know Riscydude has a similar box, and in past conversations, he was extremely helpful, so sure he'll have answer, or somebody else will.

        Appreciate your thoughts sir!!!

I have 2 Male USB A 2.0 to USB Male A 2.0 cables, neither will work, and a USB A 3.0 Male to USB A3.0 Male that won't work either, know you can buy extension cables, have 3 of them, but they will not recognize the box on Windows 7 on 4 diff computers, 2 PC's, 2 Laptops, all with Rockchip Drivers, Drive Assistant stuff installed. Got my 1st computer in 1980, old hand at tinkering with BB's (beta tested for ROMs), External Drives, have built, updated my own computers for years, work on PC's for others, brought many a Android toy back to life for friends, played with ROMS for BB, Samsung, LG, Motorola, several phones, avid XDA Developers Forum guy here. Once I got a look at Win 10, stopped looking at Windows anything past 7 unless I have to, to buggy, but more then avg knowledge/understanding of gadgets.

Maybe just me, have some kind of USB2GO mental block, or something I am not seeing, but even have Millenium/XP on HD's and found drivers from archives, none of which will let me use a standard USB Male A 2.0 to USB Male A 2.0 extension cable to access this box, or recognize it, cable will let me see Droid Tablets with full size Male USB, but have never yet got it to recognize my UGOOS Box, and have spent hours trying. Not impossible its just me, but have had zero luck.

So here I sit, why I asked here, know more than one UGOOS box on this forum, and as the cables I have, all USB A Male to USB A Male, 2.0 or 3.0 won't work, well, fancy, exp red paperweight at moment, lol. Any further thoughts on topic appreciated, has me stumped...

Do you follow the guide here?

You must hold a paperclip in the reset hole and then connect the power cable, the USB to USB cable must also be plugged into the OTG USB port not another one otherwise it won't work.

The Ugoos supplied cable is a plain pin to pin, 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4.

I don't know why Ugoos quit supplying the cable with the UT3S, it was provided with the UT3 and UT3+.

Some rules of thumb, Use PC's primary USB 2.0 ports(motherboard), switch off power saving feature on the USB port you use.

Assuming there is not a hardware problem with the UT3S, the flash procedure mo123 pointed to should be pretty reliable.

                Hang in there.
                Good luck.

Hmmm, got to get ready for work, but progress of a sort. See, after umpteen tries (like 50 or more) at Driver Assistant, the juggling act of holding recovery button while plugging in power supply, all the sudden today, without any explanation, it "pinged", found the Rockchip USB device, and even got as far as trying to update firmware with Batch Tool, but after it said Success, well, UT3S now still just a paperweight. Had me excited, shame I don't have time to tinker further, but time to make the donuts. Went through all 28 diff gadget power supply cords, none rated same V/Amps etc, but at least hopeful after like 50 tries at hooking box to PC, it did actually at least this one time find the UGOOS box, which, all in all, is alot more hopeful than I was a few hours ago. We'll, see, work nights, got a meeting before work, then working till 4 am EST, so won't get back to this for like 12 hours, then I will have another go at it, see what I can find at that point.

Appreciate the input guys, still a brick, but least optimistic I may make progress after work.

So got out of work early, came home, thought a bit, took 10 tries, rebooting PC 8 times, deleting/reinstalling Drive Assistant 6, then, as I was using the Drive Tool Ugoos gives ya, decided to go to ROCKCHIP site, and got their newest batch tool, lol. Thankfully, got PC recognize UT3S again, flashed it with RK tool, and it worked, somewhat. It ran about 15 mins, then shut itself down, then rebooted it and it worked for 3 hours, then shut itself down again. Another odd thing, maybe bug with Lollipop, not sure, but KODI, when it crashed, lost all the settings, all the changes to it I had made.

Now maybe just oddity/coincidence, but that's 3 times box crashed, all 3 while KODI Jarvis was running, which is just to coincidental for me, pondering if its a bug in KODI I have never seen before or something. Problem is, had made zero changes to KODI in like 6 months, so unless it came from a Addon update, well, maybe nothing. Been running again now for almost 2 hours, just screensaver running and all seems well, who knows. Have seen BB on ROM flashes etc, be a bit unstable for a few days and reboots, but haven't seen that with Android so much. I'll keep you posted, for now, Box is back to life.

Thought maybe cooling fan had died, heat issue, but with ear to box cover, it is running and no odd noise, no louder than it ever was, so who knows. Ghosts in the machine, but up and running with Lollipop 5.1 for now. Always wanted to tear the cover off and peek around inside this box, never needed to, but somehow suspect at this point, well, it's coming off, lol. Any Do's/Don'ts when removing the pretty red cover? Not wanting to butcher it, make it ugly, lol. Know 4 rubber feet on bottom hide screws, not sure if go at top with Xacto Knife, or remove screws, go from bottom and take chance something inside moves as yet. Betting RiscyDude already been inside his, so he will have an answer, he's like me, always need to see what they got going on in there, just till now, box was working 100%, so never went under the hood so to speak.

Thnx again guys, appreciate the help!!!

                      Glad you are back on.

No screws to get her top off(original UT3S case type). If you have a guitar pick, old credit card, etc, you can use it to work your way around the seam between the top and bottom. Gently squeeze the rear corners together, this will create a tiny gap between the top and bottom at the center rear, work the guitar pick in to this gap and slide it to the corners, first one and then the other. From there just work the pick around the top's circumference and the top should come off. I would not use an Xacto knife or any metal tool, you will be much more likely to marr the finish or even more likely to inflict damage.

This is pretty easy to do once you get a feel for it, let us know if you have any problems.

                      Have fun.

NOTE: There were two versions of cases used on the UT3S. The first was like the UT3, all plastic. The second is similar to the UT3+ and UT4, all metal but with a small plastic insert that wraps from the front to the top.
Procedure above was for getting into the UT3S with the plastic case like the UT3. The later metal case has 4 screws on the bottom to open the case.

And today, box is a paperweight again, had it up for like 5 hours, twice rebooted itself, but then seemed okay, now today, won't boot, no LED, nothing. No time to tinker, busy all day, and time to make the donuts, grrr... TGIF, think tomorrow, the cover is coming off, not that I suspect to see much, know it didn't fry, would be able to smell it, that nasty burnt electrical smell I am familiar with, lol... Will keep you posted...

Of course check power supply with your meter. If it shows ~5vdc, I would think it should at least light the LED.

Still, be better to test with a different supply. All other specs being equal(Volts, Tip polarity and size), a power supply with only 2 amp capability should run the UT3S for test purposes, provided you don't connect any USB accessories or run hi-demand stuff.

I hope the donuts went OK.
