Like professor_jonny, I have a Nextbook EBM712MCF Next712MC Model, rooted using motochopper, stock rom, have tried shawnmt's TWRP for it, slide to unlock didn't work, still having the problem where apps which have in AndroidManifest.xml preferExternal won't install, they have to be patched to say internalOnly.

The TWRP source code only provides certain screen layouts, and I don't have the time or desire to learn to modify the screen layout. On some of the models I've tested, the touch points are recognized slightly above center or slightly below center of the graphics. I suspect this is the case with your slide to unlock problem, and once you get used to it, you'll be fine.

I've never heard of the other issue about preferExternal. Give me some example apps to test on the models I own.

One app is Subway Surfers https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...loo.subwaysurf which in the androidManifest.xml file has preferExternal, and for some reason, the EBM712MCF won't install apps which are like this. Also Minecraft does this as well, but subway surfers is free so if you don't have minecraft it will work
