How does not work if you are tested on 808b version, interesting.

Why you hiding your FW another interesting point
    .

Reading it in context, I think I now see what you meant - you think I am 'hiding firmware' because I cropped a screenshot for the purpose of efficiency? Wow.

As far as DVFS is concerned, it's a known fact that DVFS varies across devices and even firmware bases/configurations. DVFS can be turned off/on at will on some 808B devices; it's a matter of a simple one line string. Enabling it when it's turned off direct from the factory is another matter.

Enough 'story' time. Pardon me for trying to help discover better performance from our devices and contribute as best as I know.

Did i am say Enjoy and good luck in OC? i am explain everything in my early post.
      PS
I am on 4.1 if you can understand what i mean.
      ps ps
Black screen with your OC in Mandrake2 test (his firmware can't handle the OC) and Enabled DVFS, is firmware releated stuff.

I know not overclocking the DDR has an impact but after overclocking well over 100% stock mhz speed it can't increase a benchmark by 1fps?

Finless posted on the rkpatchomatic thread about there being major issues with the stock kernels and overclocking, which would explain why the tool doesn't work and why others at the time, when there was a much bigger community, tried tooth and nail to get the rk903 to work with the already cutom built kernels.

Although I would love for an mk808b OC kernel to happen, I still think its unlikely for the rk903.
        Currently Using:
2 x Nvidia Shield TV | MiniMX III
        Retired Devices:

I wasn't referring to you at all. You've been quite polite. I apologize to all for the blanket admonition. An ignore function would be quite nice around here at times to better handle the mischievous...

The juggle between DDR & everything else is the issue for me. Voltages, DVFS etc.

DDR runs at 600Mhz and video performance improves greatly. XBMC nightlies play the MKV birds test flawlessly, for instance. But coupling DDR OC w/ GPU OC has been a pain. I've set DDR and confirmed it - but I'll be testing it privately. It's much more stable than the GPU OC if only because it does not depend on external factors such as boot.img mods etc. If anyone wants a whirl at it, let me know via DM.

One other thing, it definitely draws more juice and the voltages had to be adjusted to compensate; and even though I adjusted as conservatively as possible, the device still overpowers my power supply. In my actual usage (my bedroom) I'm forced to run GPU at 400mhz because of this. Trife....

Another reason why, along with everything else including kernel msgs, I believe the GPU OC holds.

              Closer, yet?

That's with GPU @400 on 808B same kernel from yesterday. It scores 80+ fps with same kernel but my power supply simply can't push it with those tweaks. Not sure what the deal is with the 808's. I'll test some more as time permits.

Shomari thank you for your reply, I am trying with 433/433 but I have to take a power PC to see how far I can push myself.
600/600 with new heatsink and fan (psu but stock) 3/5 fps in 3d AnTuTu, so the problem is the power supply.

Which firmware are you using? the navigation bar from the screenshot is different from the stock GB 407j/408j ..

My firmware is a total hackjob. Blue color is from cyxtech 808 firmware systemui. I cannot run my stick at 600mhz w/ GPU or DDR. I have an expensive (PC) psu in one room that can power it fine, but our main use is in another room and the psu connected there can only handle 466 DDR/400 GPU. It's always something. . .

@mandrake2 did you try the DDR OC kernel?

I thinks update_mk808b_v401j2 is only 808b FW with unlocked CPU and Enabled DVFS in system.
Don't say OC-er to you are got this information from me.
By the way he is post info about his testing firmware

Very nice and much better indication it's working

Will be keeping an eye on the thread and hope something comes from it for end users to enjoy.

kernel 408j mod ddr600 by Shomari (boot stock 408j/firmware stock 408j). power supply stock.
mk808B (rk903) stock (no fan, no heatskin mod) i have always 14000/14100, so ddr freq was (in stock) 360Mhz, now 600Mhz gain 400/500 points.

P.S:with another mk808B with fan and heatskin mod one time with Antutu 15000, but i not remember details point gain cpu/IO/ram ?? without modding max points are 14000

@Adainar: i have flashed update_808B_401j but dvfs always disabled and not scaling visible.

Epic citadel is Opengl 1.1 or 2.0???? because Modern Combat 4 (all stock) low fps.... i must test MC4 with ddr600
Epic all stock max : 43 fps

edit: MC4 stock gpu ddr600 much more fluid with maximum details, so gain with ddr is great.
in progress test with Shomari for gpu/ddr with volt

These are great news Thank you so much!
Could you please summarize what should the end user like myself do next ?
                            1) What ROM to be used with these kernels?
                            2) Any additional settings to be made in order to make it working (build.prop, SetCPU, frill-cpu...)
                            3) Hardware mods (fan, heat sink e.t.c.)
                            4) Pray ?

                            Thank you again!

Thx again for sharing shomari! Your download is just a kernel.img, is no special boot.img needed this time?

....no boot.img in fact, messing with stock boot will break the OC.
