Flashable stock Minix X7 Pre-010 ROM

Hey folks I figured some would like this. I know many will say WTF is up with Bob? Well read on.

This is the Stock Minix Pre-010 ROM in a flashable format.
Nothing has been changed!

Because 009 and Pre-010 are update.zip files not full ROMs, I decided we needed a flashable stock Pre-010 ROM. Why? Because if you ever want to test other ROMs to go back to Pre-010 you have to use CWM or flash 008, update to 009, then update to Pre-010.
Pain in the ass!
Well to do it right this is what you have to do. Anything else can leave /data shit you don't want!
E.G. IT'S NOT clean!!!! I do not like update.zip updates! It is not clean and can leave you with bugs from the previous releases in /data and Dalvick.

Also having a complete Pre-010 flashable ROM allows you to fully erase and flash so you KNOW you have a clean install!

How did I make this you ask?
1) I erased and flashed 008
2) Without doing ANYTHING that could change something, I updated to 009 using the zip.
3) Then updated to Pre-010 same as 009.
4) Then using the RK 2.1 tool I dumped all the paritions.
5) Then to reduce wasted file size space I properly trimmed the .img files to the used length.
So you know dumping dumps RAW the full parition. So for instance recovery partition is 32 Megs RAW.
But only 13 Megs of it are really used and the rest is EMPTY.
With a RAW dump you would flash the empty parts too.
Not needed and make Download too big as well as flash time.
6) Then I put all the parts together and made a flashable ROM.

PLEASE NOTE. There is no kernel.img because the kernel is inside boot.img on the stock ROM!
Thus you wont be able to flash any seperate kernel.img images on the stock ROM.
When kernel is in boot, it is always used vs kernel.img
Thus in the flashtool kernel.img is unchecked. If you check it, you will get an error!

So there you have it.
A stock Pre-010 flashable ROM so you can quickly get a CLEAN Pre-010 installed.

For instructions to flash this, see one of my other ROMs.
I expect you know what your doing if your using this so there ARE no instructions inside the download!

P.S. later I will make a Finless ROM 1.9 from this.
That is if anyone cares enough to have one due to all the other nice X7 ROMs out now.

Read them and use it if you want full root on 010 firmware.

Why not extract kernel from boot and repack without? Then you can have alternative kernels.

I wish for a cleaned rom that combine the HDMI/Audio fixes with pre10 and best possible wifi/lan with a preinstalled Beyond XBMC (flumpsty) and latest Gotham beta3 - so people can mess around themselves since they do not interupt with eachother.

1080 kernel
mild ram OC
Viaplay that works in HD for android (nordic stuff)
updated google office/store
root
and most of all
some game emu like retro arch that works with controllers/keyboards including some roms samples already (like xtreamer*)

and perhaps a few nice launchers to choose from.

D33, I did not remove kernel because I wanted this stock for people that want stock. Believe it or not there are quite a few that do! Also having the kernel out of boot "may" cause Minix OTA update issues for those that use it in the future.
I was debating making the stock ROM with kernel removed and pre-rooted but then it's not stock is it
So that's my thinking.

Theklavej, I guess you might be dreaming a lot. I do my ROMs a certain way and it's not adding APPs to it. I make clean fast ROMs that are pretty empty of APPs, etc. This allows users to customize it the way they want. With the pre-install script in ROMs, anything you want installed on first boot can happen by putting them in a folder on SDcard. Then first boot it will install them. All the Devs have this script in their ROMs these days. Well many do anyway.
As for updating the Google framework and core apps, I always do that
Same for adding fixed and 1080 kernels.... I just wont add APPs that users can decide if they want or not.

FYI, one of the reasons I have not jumped on the 010 release and made a 1.9 ROM is because this is a BETA 010. I have been waiting for the final release to build from thus saving double work. As you know I work on many many other devices so time is a little limited!
However, if the final 010 is not around the corner soon, I may have to bite the bullet and do it. Again it's how many people really want 1.9 based on a BETA?

Even if this pre 010 beta is the best FW I've tested since I got my X7, I'm sure it's better for all of us that you wait for the final version.

Another comment about how Minix work good with x360
tincore said me that Minix stook room missing some input module, and he recommend me to use Quickshoot rom.
I've just check several version of stock rom, your Finless rom allways missing these file:
Vendor_045e_Product_0291.kcm,
Vendor_045e_Product_0291.kl,
Vendor_045e_Product_0719.kcm
Vendor_045e_Product_0719.kl

That's why user have character spin continuously problem when using x360 in shadowgun and GTA game

Everytime I use Finless rom, I must copy these file to suitable folders, it's easy for me, but not easy for normal user.

So I would like if you will build in these missing file, give more adjust in the Finless 1.9 rom
so x360 gamepad can work good on it.
