Hi Lokie, do you now have a kernel source you can play with ? if so I would very much appreciate a kernel that was not defaulted to 1080p but rather 720p !! is that do-able ?

    Thanks

The ethernet hardware not supporting multitasking may throw in a spanner in the wheels.

Have you read the FAQ? It all depends if you have a round box or a square. Please spend some time to study and READ the FAQ post PLEASE.....

Nodrat spends a lot of time putting this together and it answer these basic questions.

i can confirm this method does work and it does root the Amlogic M8 quad core.

Now if i could just get direction on how to root the firmware, so i don't have to use this method to root every box i load.

It should work... It's a pretty generic to KK.

I doubt it, as no one has one yet, they aren't out until the end of the month.

Thanks Lokie, it's so embarrassingly obvious - when you point it out! Rooted straight away without problem - just not used to using USB to control this type of device.

There are no hardware buttons on the unit other than power so how do I select "apply update from EXT"?
first thing to do is to put the wheels back on
Second, use a usb mouse or keyboard
