It's easy to take apart. Remove the rubber feet and the screws are there.
Make sure NOT to leave a SDcard in it or you might break the SDcard slot!
Also watch out for the antenna. It's taped to the cover.

Any other cautions?

Not if you use something conductive like Arctic Silver, be care NOT to get any on the processor pins! You only need a very thin coat of thermal paste not a messy blob!
2) Active cooling e.g. a fan of some kind to remove heat from the sink and out of the box.

I'm fairly good at stuff like that, ...
...but are there any other warnings about possible pitfalls taking this apart and putting it back together?
And, ...
... any pointers about special any special procedures or hidden screws?
Again, thank you for your previous post.

Overheating
I have the 16GB Standard, I left it on running the "Koi" fish pond live wallpaper, for 2 days. No other apps were left on.
When I then tried switched to it (selecting its HDMI) and installed a simple bowling game, the screen went black and the unit was frozen.
I had to pull the power plug, then rebooted.
I then uninstalled the bowling game.
When I tried to run any app, it went black and froze again. I checked the units temperature and found it to be extremely hot to the touch.
I tried the pull power and reboot sequence twice more but had the same result.
The unit was sitting in open space slightly behind and underneath of my 55" TV. Ambient temperature was 68 F degrees.
I have not touched it and have left it off (power unplugged) for 2 days now.
Is there a reasonably easy way to improve the heatsink?
