To be honest I am not very demanding. All I want is - working XBMC, playback HD content without problems, 24/50/60hz and no problems with 5.1 sound (passthrough to receiver) and this USB. Really so hard to find such device ?
On this Tronsmart all is fine right now except few small things (I can live with it) and this USB problem. So I have to find solution for this USB power on, if I won't find - unfortunately I will be forced to change device.

Hehe. I think I would prefer some remote power switch. Just another "remote"
But I hope I can program it on some universal remote. Just I wonder is it such power off safe for external HDD ? I have some doubts.

Come on man... Nothing beats the clapper haha!

But seriously... I have a few of those and they also work well. I prefer the clapper just to cut down on remote clutter.

You can always get a clapper to clap it on and off. Personally im glad USB power is active on power off and suspend so i can charge my remote when I'm not using my device (far more important). I seriously can't believe you are thinking of selling your device because you have to walk a few feet to turn another device off.

As far as XBMC not being able to open 2 apps, how hard is it to make an icon on your home screen so you can exit from XBMC (or just go to your home screen) to open that app. If you want to make it even easier you can probably download a keymap editor to map a specific key on your keyboard to open the app. I promise you that XBMC devs are working on far more important things such as hardware compatibility and android system stabilization rather than working on fixing two apps that most people don't use.

I'm very happy with the number of devs working on the s802 devices and happy with all of the hard work they are doing for little money. I feel bad when I see posts of such minor complaints when so much has been improved since 101k4.
THIS IS A FEEDBACK THREAD!!!!!! i wasn't complaining but reporting a bug,, it took me lots of hours to figure it out what the problem was, Oman or anyone else can then look into it when they have time but at list they can now easily replicate the problem and find a fix as they go with development.

There are many small little bugs but if they are worked on then the whole experience with these boxes will feel better.
Imagine to grab a random android device and find out people app is not syncing and your contacts list's empty, first impression will be WTf!!!. It's something basic that you expect it to work out of the box but it doesn't and like that there many other little bugs that don't feel right.
That is why we are here and specifically in this thread where we have direct contact with devs to post our feedback and help others.

I use a docking station to host my HGST 3TB HDD. It makes my HDD go to sleep when not in use after few minutes and works the same way when the device is off or in suspend mode.
If i want to completely power off my HDD then i get up and manually press dock's power button. I dont have the need to do that because i use it often, that is why is connected directly to the box.

It is also bad for HDD. I don't want my HDD to spin down after few minutes of inactivity, only after losing "power" from usb
From what I read in this thread (I am not sure did I understand good) USB power is hardware thing and can't be controlled by FW.

My device is rooted using FINLESS root zip update.
If you use Finless's ROM,it spoof the device as Nexus..So you can install more Apps.

The keyboard doesn't work at all! Any suggestions? I've see you've included the mele air mouse support, could it be that all others don't work anymore?

                      Thanks

Not that reason,Every usb air mouse have a unique ID,and android identify it with the ID,something like Vendor_03e7_Product_0d01.kl..I guess, there is no adaptation with your air-mouse..

                      How to fix it:
                      1.Find out the Vendor ID and Product ID...in the kernel log file,push and pull the mouse,you will find it;
                      2.Find out the *.kl from you previous box from system/usr/keylayout depending on the Vendor/Product ID;
3.Pull out the right *.kl from your previous box and then push it into your s82 in the same directory(system/usr/keylayout)

I have actually installed Android 4.4.2 with 108k4 on my Tronsmart Vega S89-H.
My HDD connected via USB is not turning off at all. I have to disconnect it from usb or manually power off HDD. This is just ridiculous. These are very basic things. I can't believe that such underdeveloped devices are in shops. Is possible to resolve this USB issue somehow (firmware) or this is hardware issue?

Also hdmi is giving power all the time. Not so big issue like with USB, however it is a problem for someone who is using HDMI switch on one of hdmi inputs for tv.
It can be powered off the USB Host power,if that it can't be powered on via remote..
If you want both to work fine, the HW must redesign..

But there is an solution, use the OTG port...we can control that port's power supply.
Easy way to catch LOG -> Search 'Syslog' in Google Play, then install it and catch log

HDD power off was one of my main concerns about this device as well. Since it used to randomly power on and off during standby, and thus keeping the HDD always on.

I'm still on 105k4, and guess what, the HDD automatically goes to sleep after maybe 5 minutes of inactivity. Just like it used to on my computer.

You may want to downgrade to this firmware before giving it away. I know it's a major issue. Hope that helps.

Oman , are there any plans for a 109k4 release anytime soon ?? What can we expect in the next firmware ??

                          Thank you ...

It might be some special function your HDD has..

Using external sdcard storage by default would be the best feature to have, instead of downloading third party apps like Directory Bind or Folder Mount (must purchase) to move important apps data like heavy games data to your external sdcard.
It's easy to get low on space on Internal storage as it is right now and internal storage wipe everytime we flash a ROM doesn't help at all.
I wonder if is really necessary to wipe internal storage when flashing firmware by sdcard, at list if you disable that it will be a lil' more easier and faster to set things up again.

Just my thoughts but crossing fingers for this to be in devs priorities to-do-list if possible
