    1. Power On from sleep

    Cursor keys work fine.

Home only takes you to the top of your current menu.

    Thanks for the brilliant work.
    Also

    1. Volume down
    2. Volume up

    Thanks @JM

It doesn't work in my Acemax m8n,can't flash from recovery. The remote or USB keyboard or mouse doesn't work for me to select zip file from sd card .

On my rounded m8 remote the volume buttons seem to put xbmc in a reboot loop.

98 per cent remote for Square M8

The remote config file in my link gets all buttons working - except Power On, alas.

MEGA provides free cloud storage with convenient and powerful always-on privacy. Claim your free 50GB now!

Unzip somewhere on your PC, navigate via good ol' Windows Explorer to the "ConfigFiles" folder on OpenElec and copy the file to that folder, overwriting the same filename there.

Reboot the box and enjoy full control of all functions - OK, BACK, HOME, MENU, VOL etc. Red button brings up the Shutdown menu.

The issue with Wake or Power On seems tied up with OpenElec; several devices running it have physical power buttons on the unit. We need JM's genius to solve that one...

PS: Just to be crystal, the remote config file I've posted is for this one:

                Used Zahir method,

Boots openlec logo 2 seconds then off, nothing on screen
Signal is lost to screen tried on 2 monitors....

                More fiddling

                Cheers

Not sure what went wrong there. This is only a remote configuration file. Did you put it in the right folder - "Configfiles" - ?

I see.. when you installed the zip file, did you note the install script? Did it report writing a Kernel Image and a Uboot?

                            Fixed.

Monitor stuck in 1080p mode ? or would not change when OpenElec ran

Quickly installed JM's Android left resolution at 720 default

                            Cheers

Both install scripts appear to have completed properly. OpenElec is on your boxes.

If there's a conflict, it must be with your M8N boards. I'm on a standard M8, my install looked exactly like yours, Trebor. And I'm up and running (really fast..)

JM may have an update later.

Happy you're over that hurdle, Trebor. It's true that OpenElec boots up in 720p. You can change to 1080p in Settings/System. If you get screen flicker immediately, undo then redo the change.

I recommend doing the remote config fix sooner rather than later. It's just nicer having the remote working properly.

Speed apart, the best feature of Linux is it has auto-switching of your TVs refresh rate to match that of your video. 24p movies (the great majority) now play ultra-smooth, with no micro-stutter.

You set this in Settings/Video/Playback. Set "Adjust Display Refresh Rate to Match Video" to Always on.
