Freezes happen every time I scroll through either my TV Shows or Movies. The only way to get out of it is to unplug the box and plug it back in.

Just noticed the CPU is only being shown as 2 cores in Helix, when it was correctly showing 4 when in Gotham.

Just switched back to Gotham and the freezing problem has gone.

If you are on a helix build, can you update/downgrade to the gotham build by just using the exsting installation files i.e. without having to flash a whole system image?

To answer my own question, yes you can. I renamed the .kodi folder to .xbmc before i rebooted but not sure if thats required. I just wanted to see if they same jitter occured when scrolling through posters (noticable in middle of screen with refocus skin anyways) and it is with gotham. Also some fanart and posters refuse to appear for whatever resason with both helix and gotham.

@codesnake, I have a MX2 grf18 board, when I try to use pulsar add-on with you latest Gotham build I get script errors, I though the add-on was broken. So I tried reinstalling.. Still same problem.. So with the add-on still installed I use the update.tar to helix, and pulsar works. Is there a permission problem with Gotham build?

I haven't tried Pulsar but when I was reading about it I found that on systems running OpenELEC you need to go to network settings and enable " Allow programs on other systems to control XBMC "

Yah I did that, still not working with the old build, also tried streams add-on old version of xbmc torrent and doesn't work.. They all work on my M8 on OE but not on the MX2. Its not a big deal I can wait for stable helix

Playback Stops

OK. I am using the Gotham build on my M8 and I have a problem.

This morning I started watching the last episode of Peaky Blinders (which is awesome by the way) and at 29mins in playback stopped. The picture went black and the sound stopped. After a minute or so it returned to the menu system and I could start the file playing again, in fact I was able to resume from the point at which it stopped.

Can anyone here explain why this happened? I have uploaded the standard XBMC.log file here. Debug log not available at present.

OK. I am using the Gotham build on my M8 and I have a problem.

flickering image when watching live tv with mediaportal

Hi!

I have the M8 box with the latest relese of openelec.

I have this problem with the image is flickering when watching live TV, everything else works fine!
Its like there is black frames, very short flicker but they did appear maybe one black frame every second.
The diffrence with live TV and other movies must be that live TV is 1080i and my movies are 1080p?

First i turned of the vertical sync, then it got better, less flickering image, firtst i thought it solved the problem, with this setting the flickering started after 5 minutes of watching.

Then I tried to lower the refresh rate to 24FPS, When I did that all flickering was gone. But this is not a setting I would like to have of course.

Any one else with the same problem?
