Google Android TV Launcher - Official

They just pushed it to Play Store...

    Android TV Launcher

The launcher is available to download on Google Play, and only works on Android TV devices–namely, the ADT-1 and the Nexus Player.

No need to even try. This app requires Android 5.0 to run. It has dependencies to the new leanback library included in lollipop. Guess we just need to wait until 5.0 hits our devices.

I wish we had an icon here that showed someone drumming their fingers on the table. I am finding numerous Linux distributions that load from a CD and run perfectly on just about any hardware. Android is a variant of Linux, right? Since we can't just get an image of Android OS and load it into our SoC computers then my conclusion is that the parent (Google) has not the visionary force of a Linus Torvalds.

How's that for a conversation starter? (or ender?)

You can try this apps, they work with Rockchip devices based on Android 4.0 or higher versions. Moreover this launcher has its own remote control app. I think it will interest you
