[ROM] Unofficial OpenELEC for MK808B+ and MXQ

I tried the micro sd card method, but when I start the MK808 Plus while holding in the reset button nothing happens. The google screen appears and that is it. I tried formatting the card in my phone, then I tried on the computer to get fat32. Still no luck. Am I missing something obvious? I have unzipped the package so that I have the 3 files on the sd card root.

If toothpick method doesn't work for you, you can issue a reboot to recovery command in Android (either using an app or over adb/terminal) and flash the OpenELEC-Amlogic-*-update.zip file. Remember to wipe data & cache when flashing manually for the first time.

I'm glad to hear that Bluetooth works as well. There are donations links in the first post, I recommend donating to Kodi and OpenELEC as thanks to their work we can have this great piece of software.

RTL8723BS WiFi didn't work with 5.0.8p14, with 5.0.8p15 it's reported to be fully working, except for BT which may start to work with the next release.

I am using a device tree from this release. I'm afraid I'd need to ask you to test multiple versions before we get to the solution as the patch that works with Beelink's MXQ doesn't work with HD18Q. I compiled another test build. Can I ask you to test it? Of course you don't have to reset your settings to factory defaults, an upgrade with no data wipe should always work. http://s805.eu/releases/test/hd18q_mac_test/

The only problem is that the true problem (I thought it was MAC related) has popped up.
For some reason HD18Q doesn't maintain a fix IP address. I can configure a fix IP, but after a reboot it is back on DHCP.

Hi I just receive a beelink mxq and installed your rom, and wanted to thanks you. Everything working out of the box so much better than the original android rom. I just got a few questions :

- Is tvheadend available on your rom as I would like to add a usb tv tuner later.

- You say to wipe data & cache when flashing manually for the first time, I miss this step and now the recovery doesn't propose this option anymore. What the benefit of wipe data & cache.

- One addon i really like is p2p stream but it is unable to play any stream on your rom. Does someone know if it's possible to run this addon on this platform.

It is available in Unofficial Addons repo. Keep in mind that some tuners work well and some don't - if you want to purchase one, you should browse this thread for user reports or ask if anyone is using a specific tuner.

You only need to do that if you flash OpenELEC for the first time manually. If you use toothpick method this is done automatically.

Unfortunately I don't know how this addon works, you should ask on its support forum whether they support ARM if any extra non-standard libraries are needed.

Please do. The test version has some changes to sound handling which brake sound output for some sampling frequencies, as I recently discovered. These will be reverted for the next release.

I'm interested by the AverMedia Volar Green HD tuner it's confirmed that it work with official openelec, will it also work with your build ?
