OK so let me have you test this please.
    1) Download Android terminal emulator from google play
    2) Take this KO file and put it on SDcard
    3) Put sdcard on tablet and using ES File explorer copy it to /system
    4) Using ES File explorer set the permission to everything!
    5) OPen terminal emulator
    6) type su
    7) type lsmod
    8) The module should not show up in the list.
    9) now type cd /system
    10) type insmod filename of KO file exactly as it is (upper and lower case).
    11) See if you get an error? If you do not type lsmod again and ko module should show up.

    Let me know,
    Bob

Anyway of getting incompatible apps to download from the play store? Changing the build.prop to a Samsung Nexus S doesn't work.

        Recovered from boot loop!

I recently brought a no-brand "Android Mini PC" which worked OK a few times, but then failed into a boot loop.

I was able to recover it to use iMito MX1 - Finless ROM 1.4 by semi-following the boot loop recovery instructions: I peeled the board from its case and used tape to attach a very small strip of aluminum foil over the contact points (if I ever have to do this again, I'll put in a micro-pushbutton). I then powered it via the micro-USB port by attaching it to an old Windows XP machine. Windows recognized a new USB device and asked for drivers, and found them when directed to the iMito package. At that point I could run "ROM FLash Tool.exe" and directly do "Flash ROM" without needing the rather complex steps described in the README file.

Thanks everyone, without these instructions the stick would have been useless!

Any chance of including nfs kernel modules? I would like to be able to mount an nfs share on the device which doesn't seem to be possible with the current builds.

Sure... as long as you have a KO module you know works?

I just use CIFS Manager to mount my NFS folders. All my movies and music are stored on my NAS and my MX2 links to them just fine.

Sent samyboy89 a note to let you put his new Free TV Launcher on the Finless Roms.

I think the dual core Imito Mx1 with bt, samyboy89s graphical interface coupled with your uncanny ability in the Rom area and XBMC for Android will soon become the standard to beat in these Android sticks. It is truly amazing quality and engineering with an incredible price point. This kind of a product cost a heck of a lot just two years ago. I am still looking for the remote control solution to arrive, but everything else is almost completely there! Unbelievable. Thanks to you, Bob, and this terrific forum!

Sammy has already agreed to allow me to put the free version in my ROMs. Now it's not that I don't want to do this but since this is an APP on the store and available to everyone, there is no reason for me to cook it in a ROM really. Nothing against Sammy but not everyone will want this in a ROM. I like to keep my ROMs clean and allow users to customize as they wish.

Hello there. I'd like to download, but I keep receiving an Apache Cent OS server test page instead of the actual file. I've cleared cookies, and restarted browser multiple times.

I've bought this USB - LAN adapter: JP1082 NO 030818, and the drivers is found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1641274

It's probably not compiled. There's two files to download, and there's a directory for Android drivers there as well.

Haven't received the USB stick yet, but it should arrive any day now.
Would you be able to include them, or do they have to be compiled first? I'm guessing the latter..

                          @finless

                          hi bob,

i tried what you told me but i'm getting an insmod error (Exec format error)
Does it mean it's compiled ofr/with the wrong kernel?

How can i compile the .c file with the mx1-kernel to an ko file? do you have any link for me?
when i search for cross-compiling in google i get a lot of results but this is just chinese to me :S
i would need a tutorial and ressources (you said u have the kernel) etc ...

i found a , for me, doable tutorial (at least at first sight ) : http://android-jotting.blogspot.de/2...driver-as.html
will that work? where do i get the kernel for the mx1? what do i need else?

as i said, i'm not too lazy to do this stuff, just unexperienced... but interested in learning

                          cheers,
                          toby

                            Yes that error means:
                            A) the KO module was compiled for the wrong kernel or
                            B) this driver is already built in the kernel thus is rejecting the insmod.
Since it appeara what you need does not work stock, A is probably the reason.

Now as for compiling, we do not have MX1 sources! That is the problem. However it might work if compiled using the available sources we do have for Jellybean kernel.

                              thx for the info. :-)

a friend is helping me now on this topic also he has never cross-compiled before.

therefore,do u prob. know a good tutorial which is close to our case here?
could you please give me a link to the jellybean kernel source you are working with?

                              thx again,

Bob what are the differences between this rom and the 1.7 for UG802??

I understand that 1.7 also comes with OC kernel and 1080p etc (if wanted) but are there any other distinct differences?

Im looking for the best solution for the UG007. Obviously without kernel sources for this device, i want to keep the kernel as it is. but as for the boot.img and system.img (i assume these are all i'd flash if i want to keep kernel intact) which out of 1.4 and 1.7 are best?
