Skype or Oovoo Videochat on Polaroid 10" ICS

I just bought this at big lots to send to my folks so we could video chat. I made sure oovoo & skype apps were loaded & sent it to them. We were able to connect via Oovoo, but I can't see them. I can hear them and they can see & hear me on my tablet. I'm pretty familiar with android os (my phone) & have used skype & oovo on pc. Has anyone had this problem (or success) with either. Any help on this, so I can walk them through, would be appreciated.
