        hi babis666,

        I did it...

I use windows 8 - 64 bits, and the usb burning tool v2.0.4.3 provided by chinagadgetsreviews runs without crash
and I follow this guide from chinagadgetsreviews and I used the updated rom image that you provided!
        http://chinagadgetsreviews.com/downl...-v2-0-4-3.html

after flash the device, the device rebooted , and I installed king root apk... and now the root was done fine... (lol)...
with the first rom the king root failed but now It worked with this updated rom image.. I don't know if the kingo
        support updated the tool ....

now my device is finally rooted and adaway working like hell.. ;-)

            Hi babis666,
I am wondering how is the new firmware you installed? I am thinking also about upgrade but I am afraid that something will go bad. Have you tried to play videos and photos with KODI? Do you think everything is OK? With my current firmware version I have problem to find player for HD videos, all seem not to not play sharp (on desktop computer there si no problem). I tried KODI, VLC and MX Player with ARMv7 codec. Hope this new firmware can help. Thanks

Thanks for the video. Have you noticed another improvements or downgrades of any features after upgrade (except that network is now working nice)?

I noticed Gearbest has this box on sale for $36.99(USD).
Do you Chiptrip owners think that is a good buy?
                  Thanks.

For me it is great buy, it is my first TV box and I have got more than I expected. I use KODI as default launcher and everything works fluently. Just as I wrote before, video seem to be more pixelated in comparison to playing on PC, but it is hardly to recognize from distance of 3 metres.

what do you mean by "no true 1080p"? In the display settings it shows 1080p for me...

look in system with kodi mine says 720 even tho the device says its 1080 means its using an overlay and not true 1080

I don't know if KODI upscaling to Full HD or the resolution changes after play 1080p. My KODI is also 720p. But if I use SPMC I have 1080p.

edit: According to this test KODI plays 1080p even if it shows 720p in settings
