I notice that after flashing the Nano package, I get a google proxy IP as my IP address.

Can this be changed to the IP of my ISP?

Hi Magendanz, having read through the thread to see what I had missed my understanding is that with the MX3 Ethernet does not work and you do not have the bandwidth to look into and fix it.

    Is my understanding correct?

If it is are you able to recommend an alternative ROM for the MX3 that would be worth trying?

Having installed the nano version I have found it to be excellent bar the Ethernet issue. Very fast and smooth with WiFi and Bluetooth working.

As suggested I installed Nano variant and installation all went well.

Unfortunately my Ethernet connection is not working.

My Ethernet cable is plugged into my MX3, but I was asked for my WiFi code, after entering my WiFi code the MX3 connected to my router via WiFi and internet successfully.

I have rebooted MX3, unplugged and replugged the Ethernet connection in to the MX3 but only WiFi connection working.

In settings says, Wi-Fi Connected, Ethernet Not Connected

Have I missed something, how do I get Ethernet working?

Well, that's actually easy. Just install the Nano (non-ATV) variant, which uses the standard Google Now Launcher. From there, you can install whatever 3rd-party launcher you like.

Thanks for quick response, I'll have a look at atvlauncher.

I prefer standard android interface rather than the TV Launcher, I guess it's not easy to change?

Well, you can add non-ATV apps to the Android TV Launcher from this website: http://atvlauncher.trekgonewild.de/

Removing them is harder, though. You actually need to uninstall the app or change the manifest to remove the android.intent.category.LEANBACK_LAUNCHER intent filter. You'll need something like apktool to do that, then you'll need to re-sign the APK.

Magendanz, would you point me in the right direction url to tell me how to add side loaded apps to the app bar and how to remove standard apps from the app bar.

I notice you have added a file explorer to the far right of the app bar which I would like to remove if possible so people cannot access it.

just installed on the latest version on my beelink mini mx iii and cannot get the lan port to work, any ideas?

the beelink has a gigabit port vs the 100mbps on the m8s. i tried a usb ethernet adapter and that is working.

    EDIT

alright so i was able to create my own ROM, now the only outstandings issue is getting the ATV remote service to work and 4k on youtube, can you please post your API fix for android tv remote service? I added most of the changes from your build.prop but still can't get 4k to work on youtube.

EDIT2: Another issue i've encountered is I cannot get backdrop to work on my rom, anyone have any ideas?

You can also install magisk, it works on my tvbox (install magisk as last thing because it patches the boot.img, and if you install the original boot.img you don't have root anymore). That's it. Nothing more, nothing complicated.
Thanks man, I'll give it a try !
I really don't understand how TWRP can make it work when the original recovery refuse to install the OTA, but I don't understand all I am doing on this box anyway :-p
Can I abuse your kindness and ask you to upload the "custom fix" you compiled for our box ?
If you can't I'll try again by myself but the fix I compiled for the MXQ rom has not fixed my wifi. If I manage to get it work I'll upload the fix here.

Could you please tell me which rom / modifications you used to install ATV rom on Mini Mx V1 ?
I can't manage to make the rom on this thread work. I have installed the one for MXQ, fixed the remote.conf but the box is laggy, has no wifi and can't be started / shutdown with the remote (only by plugin or removing AC cable)
You seem to have a working version on the Mini MX so please tell me how you managed to get it
For your Widevine problem, I think there's no miracle solution as this is a hardware problem.
Thanks for your help mate !
