After messing with the TV gapps for a while and also checking online reviews of other boxes and TV's running on it I am a bit lost.
To me it seems the TV launcher is just a crippled launcher and nothing more.
All the "hype" comes from the added online content in the form of dedicated (mostly semi legal) apps and the linked stuff from the Playstore and very few online video sources.
All the great providers you would find on expensive TV's are missing as they are too added by the manufaturer.
AFAIK only three and free online providers actually work with the official and open TV GAPPS.
To make the confusion complete most non video and streaming related TV GAPPS apps work fine with the normal GAPPS.
Just to name Youtube TV and Google Play Games.
It should actually be not too hard to find a proper launcher that allows to show you suggestion for free online videos and games.
So could one of the great experts here please explain what makes these TV GAPPS so special and wanted?
