CX919 - 4.2.2 - Finless ROM 1.5

Bob, you should mention in first post that this should not be flashed to the Tronsmart cx-919, i just did that accidentally to a friends device which did not display anything throughout HDMI then. I could recover following an other thread, but it wouldn't have happened if it was mentioned i first post.

Yea, Im confusd too. I bought my stick off amazon five months ago. Sold by GB. manufactioner was Tronsmart. I flashed this rom and have been running it for a month. There are two versions of this stick??

There is the CX-919II which has two antennas and the clone of it which is a T428. But the T428 doesn't have any external antennas.

So if your device has the 1 external antenna then you have an actual Tronsmart CX-919 device.
Two antennas will be the CX-919II device. Which is a clone. All they did was changed the wifi chip and split the connectors on a plate to perceive the Dual Antennas.

As long as you have the single antenna one then this rom is for you. If you have any of the devices I mentioned above. Then look else where for roms.

I'm not exactly sure how you accidentally flashed your friends device. I would get your sleep walking/flashing professionally checked out.

The eu-plug cx-919 device is the same. Except one comes with a 220v EU prong power adapter instead of a 110v one. In the QA section in the eu-plug cx-919 on geekbuying. You can see someone asking a question on it.

A lot of people make the mistake after flashing of leaving the microusb power cord on the same side as the regular usb adapter port. It should go on the other side of the cx-919 where it says DC. You won't get any HDMI display if you do this. Although the light will be on.

You have a CX-919 that finless doesn't work on. You may want to work with finless on why it's not flashing. Or opt in for a RMA and tell GB your device isn't flashing with the provided finless rom.
Which they do officially support.

I am quite new to android TV sticks, but quite experienced with other android devices and am definitely no dumbass. I definitely did connect the device to DC port and not micro-usb.
If this rom flashes correct to any cx-919, which i assume as i have read the thread, there definitely must be different versions of that stick.
As you can see on the pics on gb website, one has tronsmart printed to it, and one does not. If you look a bit further, there is a non tronsmart us-plug cx-919 as well which in that case would not make sense to have as a seperate article if it was the same device.

I think I may have bricked my CX-919

I was happy to see there was a finless rom for the cx-919, so I downloaded it, and used the ROM Flash tool. After I erased the NAND (IDB), and chose the parameter 4GB, I clicked on Flash Rom. The status said it erased the the flash. It then came back saying that waiting for reboot failed. I waited about 10 mins thinking it was still in the process of flashing, but it wasn't, it failed waiting for the CX-919 to reboot.

Now, I can't get the thing to boot. I hold the flash button while plugging it in, but my computer doesn't recognize it. When I plug it into my TV while I am trying to boot, I get "Signal not found". Is my Tronsmart CX-919 dead?

OMG

OMG, not again...TT, your gona have to do some reading. There are lots of posts on this problem. I read where one person just pluggd his stick into the ps and let it sit for about ten minutes. Do not hook to hdmi when you do this. Its possible the stick is wiped completly.? But try this. Afterwards connect to pc again while holding button down. Even if you dont hear a bong.Try the alternate flash tool and see if it may see it. I feel bad for you man. But dont give up. Keep trying. Other people have recovered from this. like I said. Do some reading. I hope some others with more knowledge will step up.

I tried the other tool, and even downloaded version 1.7. I'm wondering if its because I'm using Win 8 x64 , is what's preventing me to reflash. I've tried everything, plugging in the ac port, plugging the normal usb port into my powered hub. Nothing.

When I open the alternate tool, I click on switch, or any button for that matter, everything fails.

Should I find a different OS? Any suggestions?

I respectfully disagree. I have a single-antenna Tronsmart CX919 purchased from GB fulfilled by Amazon. The Finless ROM with any of the supplied kernels does not work.

Touchscreen Monitor with CX-919

I was wondering if anyone figure out how to use a touchscreen monitor like a Dell P2314T with the CX-919. I tried to use the stock and Finless 1.6 and nothing works. Are there drivers that i need to install? Please help thanks guys.
