Am I the only one that's seemed to notice, that long pressing the remote OK button doesn't work anymore On the H96 Max X2. it use to work fine on the older devices, now it doesn't work at all, even with a downgrade to 8.1

    Look closely the photo
You will see around some clips!
Go for them slowly and you will open it!
    Good luck!

I have recently bought the H96 Max X2.
I have enabled DTS, AAC Dolby Digital in the Android settings and in Kodi I have enable audio passthrough and set the correct capabilities for my receiver (Onkyo TX-NR609).
Still, the sound output is stereo.
Does anyone have a clue what I'm missing here?

Thank you very much for this, although yesterday I installed the same rom for just extracting this file, so I actually already have it.
First I replaced the original file with a bootloader I found to another Forum for H96 max. This replacement didn't achieve what I was expecting (turning ON the box with the remote control) and also changed the colors of my TV to be something like Pink. Then I replaced that file with that of the original firmware (obviously the same with the one you uploaded). At the 2nd time probably I did something wrong and I semi-bricked my box. When I say semi-bricked I mean it was booting to coreelec but not to android. After some tries with different methods I managed to burn the GT King rom again. So everybody be carefull to what you alter and how !!!!

The file remote-mouse12.tab as I remember doesn't exist in the original rom.You can find it in the forums (sometimes for other similar boxes but with the same remote).
I changed also the files remote1.tab, remote2.tab and remote3.tab (with the original and other variations) and I got different remote configurations. The only thing I couldn't do was to be able to turn ON the box with the original remote. For this I think I need the "bootloader" file I am talking in previous post.

i meant long pressing the center or "ok" button. it is required in some apps such as esfile explorer, iptv smarters etc. works fine with usb remotes of course.. but thats actually the least of my concerns now that i realized the home button doesn't even work lmao. i will revert back to the stock rom grab that file, flash the gtking rom again and copy it with the same permissions and hope that it works, if not then i'll just force my mom to use the airmouse from now on, since she should always be using it anyways its so much better lol.
    thanks I appreciate the help

    2. Your box is LPDDR3 or 8DDR3 (DDR3 or DDR4)? The color of the led is OK (blue when ON and red when OFF)? Do you have power to your USB ports once you power OFF your box?
    3. I think you can fix your remote by copying a file remote-mouse12.tab to the root directory vendor/etc/ and giving the right permissions. You have to find this file from other working roms.

flashed this GT king rom and it's working great! only problem i am having is the "long press" function of the remote does not work.. and some other buttons are mapped wrong.

if i use a usb remote everything works fine, just not on the stock remote. would the fix be as simple as copying the original remote.conf over from the original firmware? or is it more involved than that for android 9?

edit: nevermind. i am not finding any remote.conf files how can bring remotes over now on these new android versions?

For anyone using the HK1 rom ,OR, the original android 9 Rom for our box:
Please upload here the file named "bootloader" which you can find at the Root directory under "dev/block" directory. You can use any root file explorer (like ESfileExplorer or X-plore etc).
It is a very small file about 4MB.

As far as the security patch of GT King rom it is 05 August 2018 and date of Kernel 20 Sept. 2019. If I am not mistaken both are made from Alvatech's rom for Beelink GT1 mini so maybe they have the same security patch date (I don't remember that of HK1 rom).
    Thnx dear for answering me.

There is a fix for this in coreelec but only if you turn it off from coreelec and not from android system. Anyway though I don't need this function I was curious to find the reason and maybe fix it just for the fun of fixing it.
Otherwise this is a perfect rom for my needs.
Could you please also check if you still have power to your USB ports once you turn off your box? To one or both of them?
Yes, I turn the box off and don't use sleep mode. When box is off - there is no power to either USB port.
