    Custom cases?

Can we get custom cases any where? Ive seen some custom cases for say the SBC where it is a layer of clear acrylic with these brass looking standoffs

A few of my boxes have poor cases ide like to run em open with the stand offs or a sheet of acrylic above and below.

I could drill my own holes if needed

This is some thinking "outside-the-box" as one would say, no pun intended, any thing is possible if you want to make a custom acrylic case out of SBC case kits, or a little more extreme if you have the know-how and can 3D print a new case from scratch.

If if it was me, for a TVbox, I would just use a Dremel to add more ventilation holes and maybe create a fan mount with some standoffs, either top mounted or underneath bottom of depending of fan size and board orientation.

Yeah i did that on a few of the larger boxes i have like the MXQ size case, i have an MX10 that has the same case those were fairly easy also the N5 Max wasnt bad. X96 max could use a better case and this new S912 box i got is a it cramped for a decent fan

I've been also interested in Android and while browsing for a case I run into software development companies that work on Android apps.

A few days after i made this post i found some acryic on fleabay then found a standoff kit on Amazon

I got the sheets of Acrylic a few days ago and this is my first crude build for my U2c X-Turbo box, it has the S912 chipset

I ordered a blue, yellow and this orange 5X5 sheets, i scored and snapped em to size then used a dremel and drill to mount everything. Took a few hours

Very impressive and looks great too.

What is the spec for the standoffs?

The other side of the fan has a base and i just used double sided tape to heatsink. The center is where the bearing is and its just a pressed friction fit.

Once i pull off the top plate i can then remove the fan

Since the auction is for 3 sheets each color i had one orange left and one yellow so i made another sort of case for my X96 max+

It has a larger fan i cut the ears off so the fan is round, then i just cut a hole the size of the fan and pushed it threw the bottom plate, it is also just a pressed in friction fit.

Since the standoff kit has assorted size srandoffs i can pick the right length to sandwich the board and fan between the 2 plates and make them fit sore of tight

I think i like the yellow plastic the best you can see the parts inside better and the glow along the edges looks better then the orange

The X96 is sort of an upside down board, with the display right side up the processor and everything is under

                          Hi ,

                          looks nice too , until i had my UT3 ( now trashed ) , i always want to build a double case for my UT3 & UT4 ,

but my UT3 bricked , so , it will not happen , i only use my X99 ,

the Power for the Fan is taken from where ??? soldered or USB ,

                          further much fun / gefattern

Fan on U2c is USB because usb powers when turned off, i like that

Fan on X96 is soldered to power jack so it runs all when its plugged in. I never found a good way to turn fan on and off with X96

Both perform better then stock because of better cooling
