I'm a bit confused with all this 1080 and 720 stuff. I'll try to summarize my case:
1) I see 1080 logo on boot
2) I've selected 1080@60Hz at screen menu
3) Kodi says it's 720 (also CPUz and Screen Size & Density)
4) SPMC says it's 1080
5) If I make a screen capture, it's 1280x720
6) If I follow Kodi resolution test (http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=211244) shared by @mike77 (thank you), image looks pretty crisp for me:
Is anyone else having issues with video stuttering on this device?
Videos are playing fine and smooth except for this annoying one-frame skipping/stuttering every second (clock precision). It appears as a frame rate sync issue but I already tried all different settings without success.
I haven't checked the mouse pointer thing as mentioned in other threads for RK devices but I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same issue.
Hello,
I have a problem with a h.265 file where video is all black (tried with several players, same result, only audio works)
Maybe video is not standard or MK808B Plus is not good enough?
Thanks!

should the sdcard entry even be there? or should it be defined as a block device? I have a theory that maybe the file system is corrupted and needs to be reformatted.
maybe external_sd should be mounted as /sdcard ? My guess is from using other linux systems that won't boot because of similar issues -- not finding the right partition.

This second stick has a hardware issue. The reset button was stuck so always booted to recovery.
I 'fixed' it. It's no longer stuck in reset. I may or may not have voided the warranty in the process :-(
This is made from the latest 109K4 release that fixes USB dongles (kind of).
Everything is pretty much the same as my 1.0 ROM as far as what I did to it.
Note: If you are on 108K4 it has a messed up recovery thus you MUST use the recovery.img I provide in this ZIP package.

Bob - I did not thank you for your work in my previous post. Thank you!
I have a couple of questions:
1) I have two mk808b-plus sticks. One for upstairs one for downstairs. Is it possible to change the device name that is displayed for Google TV Remote? They are both set as mantaray-12345678900 . They are technically distinguished by ip address but to switch between the two, one has to select 'Add another device' . So, it's another step. For me, it's not a big deal. For family members, I'm going to have to label the tv's with the ip address and remind them how to switch, etc. Is it possible to change the device name some how? Maybe there is an entry to add to a config file that will enable device renaming in the android settings?
2) Any idea of about how HDMI-CEC should work with this device? My guess is that this is something that needs software to send and receive the signals between the tv and mk808b plus. Is there an app out there for android that takes advantage of this yet? I know kodi(xbmc) on my raspberri pi does.
i have an issue where i am in 1080p in android and other apps, but when i go into xbmc it only loads ino 720, and the video is in the top left screen.
I was having synch issues with video and audio....
so i changed my mxq to 720 instead of 1080p.....
went back into xbmc and everything played perfectly.
i decided to turn on "amlogic hardware decoding" it wasnt on....
went back into 1080p in the mbox settings.....
back to xbmc.....and now it's stuck in 1280x720 top left screen.
I was assuming the mxq played xbmc in 1080p but as of now i cant get it to go back to 1080p or work properly.
anyways have any ideas of seen this before?
pulling my hair out.
i know the box is in 1080p because when i click info on the tv it says 1080p 60hz
same with other applications...
i erased the stock 13.2 from xbmc....
i installed spmc but all the videos where super glitchy...
found finless's included xbmc.apk which didnt work prior (omen 13.4)
installed it.....
and slowly copied over my setup.
was in 1080p in system info...
any 1080p video i try from phoenix for example is super choppy and unwatchable.
when xbmc was forcing to 720p and amcodec hardware unchecked i was getting full screen 720p perfect video.
now i am wondering if this box just cant play 1080p files properly.
just tested it on a 720p episode of shark tank from 180upload for example and voice and video totally off with intermittent slow mo.
Ker do you have 1080p video playing no problem?
or is this something that hasnt been solved on this box?
im only using this box now because my samsing 4k tv's no matter what i do wont recognize the s82 4k devices.

seems im in 1080p purgatory.
I've just tried 300 (1080p) and Serenity (720p) trailers from http://www.h264info.com/clips.html. Both look great with last official Kodi release in my tv.
