    Marshmallow_BOOT.IMG_Systemless-SuperSU_v160609 -> 32Bit (ARM) + 64Bit (ARM64)

The time for "system-less" rooting in the rockchip world has started now

Since a while you need to set manually a flag to get "sytem-install" mode on Android M at all.
Like on all other Android M devices too .. we should use the "system-less" mode for SuperSU too.

You may "manipulate" the system.img and use the "old" system-install way.
But do we want this ?
Maybe for the next time .. but at some point we should go for system-less.

For system-less mode we need a modified ramdisk .. SuperSu.zip installer will fail to modify the ramdisk on rockhip.

Here we you have the first ramdisk .. BOX version ..

    Update.ZIP_Marshmallow_BOOT.IMG_64Bit_Systemless-SuperSU_v160609.zip

    Update.ZIP_Marshmallow_BOOT.IMG_32Bit_Systemless-SuperSU_v160609.zip

    Installation via TWRP.
    1. boot.img
    2. SuperSU.zip (v2.72+) .. ignore the warning from supersu - your ramdisk (boot.img) is already patched !
    3. Reboot
    4. You are rooted ..

Pls get more information here ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1538053

Hi, can this link please be updated?

And do you know if this will allow Magisk to be installed instead of SuperSU?

I was receiving a ramdisk error with Magisk so hoping this may be the fix

The problem is the ramdisk manipulation done by Magisk or SuperSU.
It seems Rockchip boot.img is still not supported.

The following link still works ...
      https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...1cyWW9yRy1QMGc

The other shares have been deleted by M$.

Pls build your own boot.img for Magisk.

      Cheers

      EDIT:
I was able to re-enable the one drive folder too .. but only 5GB of 15GB are left
Store photos and docs online. Access them from any PC, Mac or phone. Create and work together on Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents.

I did suggest that Geekbuying either clear the spam bots or shut the forum down but they decided against that, stating that there is a new hardware product being developed that will supersede the current Geekbox and that the forums will be sorted out once it is released.

R-TV BOX S10, Beebox N3150, Chuwi Hibox, Nvidia Shield, A95X Max

I've no idea what they will come up with,so only time will tell on that one.

It does show that the existing box is never going to receive further support though.

Some background on what happened to Geekbox from Gouwa, one of theoriginal Geekbox dev team who now produce Khadas VIM:
Hi, Acesabe: Thanks for the questions. Yes, Geekbox is exactly fully designed by us, actually when we designed and developed Geekbox, we named it as Cross, as we thought it was a completely new concept like the name Cross itself, the product can be expanded/cross to different products like projector, MiniTV, development board etc when match different carrier boards. As we were(& are) a small team, so we cooperation with another partner and with a new brand: Geekbox. Both the website and forum...

Please if you have latest firmware for geekbox with android tv mode (not the tablet mode), could you share it with any fileupload service. There is no live links nowhere with android on geekbox. Thanks in advance.
