T-R42 B351_V2.0 Wifi problem
Hi everybody, i have joined the community, for some time at least, because i have bought a T-R42 board.
I have bought it on Aliexpress (not sure if i can put link here), and it was sold as "Free Shipping - New Quad Core Android 4.2 CS918 K-R42 MK888 TV Box RK3188 2GB DDR3+8GB HDMI/TF Card Mini PC Set TV Box EKB311".
Inside was a B351_V2.0 board with bluetooth, and it does have a Wifi problem: sometimes download drops to 0.x Mbit/s although a visual indicator shows "excellent" connection. It happens randomly without any obvious reason.
I have tried flashing
Custom 1.2.3 ROM from wasser
(no boot at all)
and
stock from Geekbuying (Geekbuying T-R42_ B351V2.0_20131203.img) that booted successfully.
Yet wifi problem is still there.
I have been playing around with router settings yesterday. I have a TP-Link WDR4300 router and it allows to have a seperate Guest network with it's own security and encryption settings. I have tried with my main WPA2 network and a Guest WPA network, and yesterday it was like clear to me: WPA is OK (30-50 Mbit/s) and WPA2 is a no-go. But today in the morning, it was OK on WPA2 network! This is eefing crazy!

00:27 Jan 09,2014 Ellen! The TVBox you are selling is NOT a "K-R42". It is a "T-R42" with different board layout and a Wifi problem! I am not alone who has this problem with this "B351_V2.0" board! A lot of people complain about bad Wifi with it and are about to return their purchases back to sellers and get refund. Old board, without bluetooth, did NOT have this problem. You say bluetooth is us$2 more, but if bluetooth version have wifi not working, that whole TVBox is worth us$ 0! ZERO. Refund. My TVBox is only 2.5 meters away from router, and my router is a very good and strong one. I have about 10 other devices who connect to it. One of them is a laptop that connects at 300Mbit/s and another is a desktop that connects at 450Mbit/s, it is at the same place as TVBox! I have no idea if RJ45 works, because i have paid for a Wifi TVBox, and i NEED working Wifi! I have tried yesterday, and wifi worked very strange: sometimes it connected at 13-15Mbit/s, sometimes - at 30-50Mbit/s, but sometimes it drops down to 0.5Mbit/s and nothing is downloading! And i still can not figure out WHY this happens! It is ONLY TVBox with this problem. All other devices in my house connect and work perfect! My only hope is that factory makes a proper ROM or guys from forum will make some good ROM for this box. It is in your direct interest to try to contact factory and ASK for NEW ROM for this box with Wifi working stable! I still have 30 days to leave feedback, and i hope there will be a solution. But you should know it will be not possible for me to leave a good feedback without proper working Wifi! Please spend some time helping with this problem, otherwise you are losing customers, for sure! BR Dmitry
