    HELP! I think I damaged my X7

    Hi there,

I was eager to update the firmware and I followed the tutorial on youtube on how to do it, but that person was too fast in explaining how to connect the X7 to my pc. So, I didn't installed the USB drivers for the X7, but I connected it directly while pressing Power button and Restore at the time.

The result: My pc don't recognize the device and even when i unplug the X7 and connect it to the TV, I get nothing but a black screen.

What shall I do now? Is that possible to get it working? Like resetting something... My humble noob opinion is that the device is stuck in flash mode.

Your x7 is not detected by PC even after you installed required drivers?

I am not sure I succeeded to install the driver.

Then it seems reasonable to make sure that driver was installed properly before making any conclusion about X7. It should be pretty easy to find needed info on such topic either on that forum or on the web.

          OK so hold on....

The box worked and then you followed some youtube video and did you flash a ROM and that's why it wont work now? You CANT flash a ROM unless you got the drivers installed.

It sounds like the box is still turned on and stuck in fastboot mode.

You probably just need to either force it to shut down completely (I don't know how to do that on your box.) or to let the battery run down completely.

I'm not sure if this helps, but I had a (kinda) similar problem thanks to that great 4.4 FW which also flashed CWM alongside -> My recovery went corrupted and the X7 wouldn't boot anymore, only when trying to run recoverymode it would shut down after 1 second.

Make sure the correct drivers are installed/available on your system, connect the X7, press and hold the recovery button and then press and hold the power button.
Keep both buttons pressed the whole time and wait for windows to recognise the device. Now try to flash a new firmware/recovery using the official Minix tools/FW(And don't release the buttons! A bit tricky, but doable )

I got my device back to work again on this way. (And I'll never try the crappy FW by 'wasser' again :P )

Thank you for trying to help. I uninstalled end installed the driver, connected the X7, pressed both buttons, nothing. The blue led won't light unless i cut the power and restart by only pressing the power buttons.

I have read on other forum that before puttin the X7 in flash mode I should've give permission to connect to pc via USB from inside Android. Wich I didn't... Now I can't get back to Android. Only thing is a black screen on my TV.

So, my opinion is that the device is stuck in flash mode and I just can't get it back.

                  Hi Bob,

I wasn't been able to flash the X7 just because my computer didn't recognized the box. Then I wanted to go back in Android on the X7 and allow USB connection, but I can't. There is nothing showing on TV.

It still sounds like it's stuck in fastboot. There's no display when powered on in fastboot mode.

Is exactly what I assume: The box is in fastboot. I can't see anything on TV and I can't get into box via pc because I didn't allowed USB connection when I was in Android. The driver I installed isn't enough to make the X7 seen by my pc.

On tablet's we can usually get out of this fastboot mode by holding the power button down for awhile to force power off. If there isn't a way to do that on the X7, then you'll probably have to wait for the battery to run down.

I kept the Power button long pressed, but it won't cut power. The only way to cut the power is to unplug the power cable. As for the battery, I have no idea how long shall I wait for it to drain out... I think the most convenient solution is to sent the X7 back to the seller.

What happened is unplugging while in Android probably hosed your file system which can happen. I don't think your stuck in fastboot as if you were the PC would be seeing something.

Also NO.... You do not need to turn on anything in Android to have the PC see flash mode. Android does not exist in flash mode period. So you do not need to worry about that.

One thing to know since it's clear you never flashed a ROM before, You cant use USB 3.0 ports unless you change this in the flash tool settings.ini

                            SUPPORTUSB11=1

Try changing this to a 0.

If that does not work then see if you can use a 2.0 USB port. Also in your PC BIOS settings for USB, make sure legacy is ON and "high speed" is off.

Hm, I was actually using USB 3 ports to connect it to my pc. Let me try to connect it through a USB 2 port.
