Xtreamer Multi-Console = MINIX Neo X7?

Hi guys,

Xtreamer has released news about their new multi console, when I saw it I thought: hey that's an X7!!

Same look
Same specs (although they mistyped. RK3188, they claim RK3818 which does not exist)
Same WiFi receiver
Same android version

It seems to me they are selling a rebranded x7?

I take this as good news - new firmware possibilities

Seems to be a 720p kernel - but it probably has interesting improvements?

I wonder if there is any added benefit to their firmware, how do we go about unpacking a rom and looking inside?

The Xtreamer rom contains XBMC for Minix (v12.4.0) and the buil.prop contains "ro.product.model=NEO-X7-mini" it was created the 7th of januari 2014.

I quite like the look of the launcher they have. If we could pull the Rom apart and get it, I would use it with the KitKat Rom

price of the xtreamer is alot higher. so no reason to buy a rebranded minix..

It is better to install minix xbmc beta 2...it is the same! And people in other forum tell that xtreamer is x7 mini! Stay away from funny sellers!

its not always just the box

its very much what you pack inside it

for what it looks like, they did a great job optimizing "desktop" and packed some things i personally would like bundled, like retro games and out of the box radio etc..

if its all smooth and working, its ok to add price for the time i have to save getting it all together.. imo

I also unpacked the firmware available on site and it was a stock X7mini

The new xtreamer firmware (exit same days ago) is completly different and inside there are many new app.
Tommorrow I'll try to install launcher in my t428.
