Backup MK808/B with full firmware and apps/ setting to restore to another device

    Hi guys,

As the tittle says, I was wondering if you knew a way to backup the entire device (with firmware/kernel as well as apps and android settings) in order to restore to another device?

My aim is to have one good setup of the device and clone it exactly to another device to I can have one i the living room, and few others in other bedrooms

I guess I could install Finless 1.7 or 2.1 on each devices then install all the android apps one by one as well configure XBMC add-ons but it will take me for ever as a lot of settings have to be done each time..

Also is there a way to backup without having the google ID in the device so I can give one to a friend without having my Google details signed in?

Can Titanium backup do that or maybe a recovery tool like ClockWorkMod or Twrp to do a system backup?

    Any help welcome!

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards
    Alex

TitaniumBackup makes a backup of apps and app data, but not firmware.
CWM makes a backup of apps, data and firmware, but you can only restore a backup to the same android version (you can't restore a Android 4.1 backup on 4.2 and vice versa).
But none of these methods saves the content of the internal SD card (this is where xbmc stores all its data), so you have to back it up manually using a file explorer.
When you want to give your backups to other people, delete all personal information like your google account before you make your backup.

      Phinc,

Thanks a lot for this clarification, I never used titanium before..

So the way to go will be cwm recovery to backup all system as well find the path where the files for XBMC will be saved (to have all settings and add-ons)

How can I remove the google account from the device prior to backup without losing the apps?
Maybe another way will be to hardcode the apps with the firmware, maybe upack the firmware then add the apk of the apps then repack it? not sure if this will be possible..
So that way, I can install the rom and all the apps I need/use will be there, then only need to add the google account manually for the rest?

      Thanks!

Remove Google account: go into settings>accounts>google, tab on the account, hit the menu key (or the three dot softkey) and choose remove account.
You can pack your apps into a rom if it is a CWM flashable zip file, but i don't know a way of doing this with roms in img format.
