I'm trying to find another adapter, since i think that might be faulty. If a fuse was blown, it wouldn't turn on at all, right? What else could be wrong?

T-R42 starts for a few seconds then shuts down. Bad power adapter?
I noticed yesterday that it was off, then i turned it on and saw that i didn't get any video output. The blue leds turn on for a few seconds (although the leds flicker noticeably, which i don't think they did before) then after 5-7 seconds it shuts down. Does anyone have any similar experience with other devices?

Although the voltage seems okayish when i checked with a multimeter, i bought a new adapter and it worked (would have been so much easier it they would have a USB A contact like the mk808 instead of a round one)
Thanks.

I had the luck of finding a universal adapter cheap, one which includes all the different sizes of round male adapters and the ability to change voltage.
What you need is a adapter that is 2A and 5V. Like this http://www.sweetpeas.se/product.php?id_product=185
As you can see on the back on this and your adapter, it has to say OUTPUT: 5V == 2A.
You could possibly find it at home in another device, just be extra carefull that it is 5V, another more powerfull will kill the t-r42.
Ampere can vary but 2A is the minimum for a mediacenter as powerful as t-r42. 3A would be even better, but would be harder to find.

Will report back if it fixes it. Thanks.

For those that have the same problem, I can confirm that in my case the solution was to also change the power adapter. I used a power adapter PSP, changing its connector 0.8 mm for the original product of 2.1 mm and it works perfect.
Thanks to zydeco and mtidmarsh for their ideas and thanks to the forum.

Thanks for this Thread Zydeco,
it help me to find the failure. I have the same problem. It is definitively not possible to measure the faulty power adapter with help of a multimeter.
I connected 5V from an old ATX Power supply .... and hurrahT-R42 works fine.
Defect power supply seems not to be able to deliver the needed current.
May be, that it went defect because of overload ?! I connected 2 USB memory sticks. is this not allowed?
Does anybody manage to repair the power adapter??

yes i repaired it
there was a faulty electrolitic capacitor
you can see it opening the power adapter and look the capacitors on the top
one of them is swollen
just replace it with other with same capacity an volt,
and the power adapter will work again ☺
it is a very common capacitor, you can open an old power adapter that you don' t use, and look for capacitor with same capacity and volt
unsolder it and replace the faulty one with it
