Perfect 24p movies playback
Hi everyone. I have a MK802IIIS with 1.7 Finless ROM and when i play videos using MX with H/W activated you can see judder. I think the problem is that in settings you could only configure 50Hz/60Hz output and the movies has 24p (23.976fps). is it posible to configure 24Hz output?. is it posible to have real 1080 not scaled?.
Thank you very muchTags: None

Thank you for the response. However I don't undertand very well what you have told me about the electric grid. For example, when I connect my laptop to the TV I could configure the output frecuency from several options. One of them is 24Hz, using that mode when I playback a movie with 23.976fps everything is flawless, no judder at all. Is there a way to do this with this stick?

How smooth the video plays at has nothing to do with that setting that you asked about... so for that part, select the frequency that your electricity uses.
How well the video plays back is determined by the software you using to play it back ( ie XBMC, MX player etc ), it's settings as well as which specific hardware and ROM ( ie Finless 1.7 ) you have. It also depends on if you are streaming the video on the internet or from a local drive.
In order that someone can help you... you need to tell them which software you are using to playback the video and simlar details.... I can answer the first part ( the 50Hz/60Hz ) but for the rest you will need someone more familiar with all of that since I'm new to this also.

I believe the 2dark4u kernel had/has a 24p setting, perhaps the omegamoon kernel did too.Currently Using:
2 x Nvidia Shield TV | MiniMX III
Retired Devices:
MiniMX III-II | Mk808b Pro | Mk808b Plus | Raspberry Pi 1 + 2 | UBOX R89 | MK808 | MK808b | CS008 | X1 4K (rk3288_809) | CYX_809III | Ouya | CX-919 | S82 Plus | Tronstmart R68

If the kernel is a 1080 kernel... it is capable of displaying a full 1080 video but how well it displays depends on a lot of factors... many report stuttering and jittery video on the MK808 and MK808B devices. In addition, the device will likely get pretty warm and would need additional cooling.
Using a 720 kernel would require upscaling to view in 1080 ending up with not quite as nice / sharp of an image but it isn't a big difference for most people. Your device also wouldn't get as hot so there are certainly advantages in that area.
I'll not say much about the audio passthru other than to say I've seen it mentioned working on certain devices using certain softwares... It isn't a big importance to me yet so I haven't read up on it or paid much attention to that part yet.

The problem with 2dark4u kernel is that I have MKIIIS not MKIII, it isn't compatible, is it?. There's nobody that in Android setting could select 1080/24Hz in display section?, in that case wich kernel/firmware configuration you have?. Thank you.
EDIT: It's curious that with the old MK802II (here) you could output at differente frecuencies and with MK802IIIs (here) not. See the pictures at the bottom of the pages where you could see display settings.
