TWRP Manager caused major crash on M8 Pro

I'm running RileyRom 2.1 on my M8 Pro. Yesterday I installed TWRP Manager V5.7.3 from The Google Play Store. I already have Titanium Backup installed. I wanted to try TWRP to compare.

On my first attempt to run a backup the tablet crashed in a major way. When I clicked on the OK button in the Message Box that appears displaying the Time Stamp for the backup, the screen immediately went black and the speakers crackled. A few seconds later the original Pipo initial splash screen came up followed by the Android man laying down with the Triangle with Exclamation Mark.

I had to do a re-set by pressing the reset button, which then allowed the tablet to reboot normally to Riley Rom. To check if this was an anomaly I retried to do a backup and the same crash resulted. I have since removed TWRP Manager.

I'm not sure what caused that...but thanks for the information.

I won't be messing with TWRP Manger, then.

It's a shame, though, because I was thinking about trying TWRP in place of CWM for a tablet I can't get CWM to work on.

TWRP needs a device specific recovery image that uses your tablets kernel and partition layout and no one has managed to build for our tablets yet but if you try to install it from a playstore app it may mis identify your device and use incompatible recovery which could brick your tablet.
