I prepared this kernel for lonely2k5 for his J22 tv stick and he reports wifi/BT working

Kernel is compiled from the beta KitKat sources and has 1.7 GHz / 600 MHz GPU / 720 MHz RAM and 1280 x 720 desktop

    many many thanx to darrellr

he did great work with this...
he created several kernel's with non working WIFI and BT, but he kept on trying and succeeded creating working kernel !

i beta tested all of his kernels and alone this was time consuming, so what he did was way more ...

    - the kernel works great, wifi turns on and immediatly finds wifis (way faster than on 4.2)
    - bt works (turns on), haven't tried more as i don't use it
    - antutu score 20.108 points

    - xbmc (1080p a bit choppy), i'll try the fix like 4.2 if it get's better

    so darrellr

    will report further...

i use Finless ROM 2.0 (kitkat) + this kernel

    EDIT1:
    - xbmc alpha 8 not working (crash before openning)
    - xbmc alpha 9 and up working but many plugins are incompatible
    - xbmc crashes probably because of ROM not kernel

Re: KitKat Beta kernel for J22 / CX919II

I have a J22 and used the flash tool to flash Bob's 4.4 ROM a few weeks ago. It booted but obviously I didn't have wifi or Bluetooth. I went back to stock 4.2.

      1. Can someone create a package to flash 4.4 with this kernel in it?

      2. If not, can someone explain how to flash the kernel only after flashing a ROM? I could not figure it out. Not new to ROM flashing, just Android sticks.

      Thanks in advance!

        METHOD1
        1. download Finless ROM 2.0
        2. open flashtool (in directory, unzipped from Finless rom)
        3. leave everything as it is exept where it says kernel, choose kernel downloaded from here
        4. flash
        5. dance (*optional)

        6. done

        METHOD2
        just flashing kernel
        replace step
        3. uncheck every checkbox, exept kernel and choose this kernel
        3.5 drink a beer (*optional)

Will test the kernel in the 2.0 thread and report back. On 4.2.2 wifi and bluetooth worked, but when listening to Pandora Radio using Motorola S305 bluetooth headphones the wifi would drop in and out. Turn off bluetooth and the wireless would never drop playing Pandora Radio through TV speakers. Hopefully this kernel may fix the problem.

Beta kernel works perfect on my J22! Thank you! I can finally stream Pandora over WiFi to my Bluetooth headphones.

How is the video playback with this release? I am a brand new J22 owner and tried testing playing 480p, 720p, and 1080p video from my plex server over the wifi. It is very choppy and stuttering. I set the quality settings to the very lowest and played around with all the settings, but nothing seemed to fix it. Does this kernel fix this issue? I have tried pretty much everything I could without attempting to flash the ROM and update the kernel as I'm new to this so i'm a little nervous to dive right in. I tried using xbmc, mx player, and ehomemediacenter. All have the exact same playback issue. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. I also apologize if this is a dumb question, but I have read a lot of threads and none name the specific TV dongle I have so I'm scared to try out custom roms and kernels. J22 Model RK31SDK bought from aliexpress.com.

                KitKat Kernel

Hey I'm trying to port 4.4 on to a new unit i have model number cx921b, I flashed it with the t-r42 old kernel fromw assar and everything works fine, except I'm having an issue with bluetooth. I'm concerned it's kernel related and could use some assistance. I was curious if you would be available to get on google hangouts and have a chat with me or just message me back here, whatever works best for you, I would love to get this working ASAP and I will even compensate you for your time. If you can let me know what you need from me to build a kernel and make this happen, I would be forever grateful.

my hangouts username is [email protected]

Excellent. Havent tested your 1080P kernel yet but very happy with your work on this so far
Just out of interest is it possible to link to kernel sources or not?

                      Hi thanx

                      testing it now...
                      - WIFI works great
                      - BT doesn't work (not turning on)
                      - i combined kernel with rom (CX-919 4.4.2 Finless 2.0 BETA)
                      - antutu score 20.193
                      - had to scale a bit down in settings

                      will test more...

EDIT: xbmc alpha8 doesn't work but i guess it's ROM problem
other alphas that work, have plugin problems...
will test now new kernel with other rom

                      but first hockey...slo-usa...go slo

Try this one. It appears you can't have nested ifdef statements.

kernel is 1800/600/720 with no override for T chips

                          Hi d33,

Thanks for your efforts here! Because of this kernel, I'm now using KitKat on my CX9191II clone Unfortunately, Bluetooth doesn't work (when switched on, it eventually switches back to off), but I'm happy with just the wifi, and the performance is better than with any of the various 4.2 ROMs I had, so kudos, mate

Hi, d33, thank you very much!
I tried all the kernels on this site and only this one fits for me!
Wifi is working, BT-I dont need it))

My device is this one: http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/270750589.html
                            RK3188 CX919 II 2gb ram/8gb rom/ Quad core Mali-400/1.6GHz(1.8GHz Max)

I think, you should create a table, with all possible kernels, boots and roms. That would be very timesaving and very popular.
                            Thanks a lot!

HI, my device is overheated and freeazes with this kernel, but wifi is working.
Seems I need 1,6Ghz/GPU-400MHz/DDR3-2gb kernel but with same wifi. Do you have such?
if no, pls give me 720P resolution kitkat4.4 kernel with same wifi.
                              Thanks in advance!
