[MK802IV] Broken button - how to install new ROMs?

Hello everybody, some days ago I bought the MK802IV and I had problems with the WiFi from the beginning. So, I decided to install immediately the NeoMode ROM trying to get better overall performance: unfortunately, after 3-4 ROM install the recovery button to push in the device has broken.

Now I wonder how can I install new ROMs, since the current ROM is very unstable and often lose HDMI signal (the screen become black, sound goes away and after few seconds screen and sound come back to work properly).

In the current ROM I see a tool called "Reboot" but even if I "Reboot to Recovery" and connect the device to the PC, I cannot run the RKAndroidTool to flash a new ROM ("No found device for upgrading").

    Try reboot bootloader instead

      It works. Thank you :-)

One last question: now that I have the broken button, I need the root privileges to run "reboot bootloader" command to try a different ROM, right?

If by mistake I install a ROM without root privileges, will I be forever stuck with that ROM? Or instead there's an option to install a ROM through the SD card (I have one of the first Android STB and here I used the SD card installation)?

      Thank you again :-)

If you manage to get to homescreen and settings do this:

          - Turn on the stick as usual.
          - Connect it to a screen via HDMI.
          - Connect it to a pc via USB.
          - Go into Settings > USB > Connect to PC, pick the checkbox.
          - Just to be sure, if the screen with the green android and the "Connect flash memory" button thing comes up, click on the button (Android becomes orange).
          - Into the PC, open RKAndroidTool.
          - Look at the bottom buttons, click on Switch.
          - Wait until it says that it found the stick.
          - Flash!

If you got a bootloop, or you can't access settings:

          - Open your stick if you haven't done yet (it should be easy)
          - If you never did it, try to press the button with your fingers.
          - If it didn't works, look at the button's metal contacts.
          - look for a little metal piece somewhere (the tip of a flat screwdriver should work, maybe a piece of a copper wire could be even better) it has to be naked metal, possibly copper, not painted, coated or whatever, if you want to be sure, scratch a little its surface.
          - Scratch a little the button contacts tip too (those are probably beside the button or on the other circuit side, right under the button).
          - FIRST try to make a bridge between the contacts with the metal object, trying all combinations, and after you have put the object on two contacts, insert the cable into the PC (could be a little tricky by yourself, maybe you can ask for help).
          - If it works you should see a black screen and RKAndroidTool saying "Found" otherwise it will turn on as usual.
          - Flash!

if you have some doubts, don't hesitate to ask! Bye!
