Akai 10" tablet --ak8457 tablet locked- daughter cannot remember pattern

How do I reset it to factory settings???
The tab as 2 external buttons -one "power" and the other "home" and a reset pinhole.
The reset just seems to cut the power off when pressed. Tried all sorts of combinations pressing the 2 available buttons but cannot boot into recovery or hard reset device.
Any ideas would be great maybe using a pc?

What you have to do if find the stock ROM and flash it erasing everything.
That's the only way.
