I tired it some time ago and it did not work on any RK device I had and in fact bricked it.
I have not tried recently.

I got it working by following the link to a guide in the play store. Very easy actually.
I now have a working (l)ubuntu with lxde desktop running in a chroot environment installed in a folder in my fat32 partitioned external SD. It automatically installed a working vnc server, so i can access the LXDE desktop from my PC
Haven't figured out a way to access the GUI from the device itself yet though.
I can do apt-update/upgrade. Install aptitude and so on, but when i try to install programs, it is missing a lot of packages, wich i have not find a proper solution for yet. I also cannot open the software center, even though i tried to reinstall the software center through apt-get.
I will work a bit more on it, and try to find som solution. When/if i do find a solution, i will post it here.Comment
