    Newbie needs help

I bought an Android TV box and hooked it up to watch movies/TV shows with XBMC. It works good, except streams keep stopping.
i have read to run flawlessly I need at least 5000kbps internet speed, my internet is only about 3600kbps.
i was told I can add either a flash drive, SD card, or external hard drive and use it to cache more stream . That I can let the stream download before I start watching it. I can't find any info on how do do this.
    can somebody help me out?

i know nothing about the box, it's round with an MX on the top.

It needs more info.. i think
Like what stream are you watching
Like what version of xbmc you are using
-with or without xml tweak file

    Options
Use 'advancedsettings.xml' to tweak xbmc (cache location/size ect)
Use xbmc addon to download video file
Use xbmc to play file/stream.. then hit pause.. wait 5 min.. hit play (this create's a buffer)
Use 'playercorefactory.xml' to use a external player like mx-player

In the 'spmc' post.. is a pre-made example 'adv.xml' for xbmc

    Note
Non of these options work on streams like.. veetle

    Cheers

Doesn't matter which stream I use, although I do sometimes find one that doesn't freeze.
I mainly use mash up, 1 channel, project free tv.
not sure which version of xbmc I'm using (at work at the moment).
i have tried to start the stream and pause, but it DOES NOT create a buffer, which is why I thought I needed to add external memory.
Is there a setting that needs changing?
i did see a video that says something about going into tools > tweaks and checking something to do with 0 (zero) cache.
