Cheap Android phone as Joystick solution for Minix Neo X7

I have X7 and original PS3 wireless joystick with sixaxis app. This is great for most games, but sum are enjoyable more with touchscreen and all the sensors. I need a new phone anyway, so decided to buy any cheap android phone that has reponsive screen and sensors and support Droidmote. What I want to ask is an advice. Maybe someone can suggest a phone model that does the job? Thanks in advance

cheap phone gives jerky response.
expensive phone is smooth.
Samsung tab is good.
