Hide status bar before launcher starts?

Hi guys, I'm currently running the latest stock rom with the recent updates. I converted beyond xbmc into a stock launcher and modified it to my liking - so now when my minix neo 7 boots, it boots straight to xbmc.

I have the annoying status bar at launch and am forced to run an alternate apk to hide the bar. Is there anything I can change in the rom, or add to xbmc manifest to hide this automatically.

This question is directed at someone knowledgeable in android rom building or app creation.
