    JustOp Quadro

    Hi,

    I've bought a JustOp Quadro

    The Specs are:

    CPU: Allwinner A31S Quad
    GPU: PowerVR SGX544MP2 OpenGL ES2.0 Open CL1.x,DX9_3
    RAM: 2GB DDR3
    Storage: 8GB NAND Flash
OS: Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean + XBMC (Vidon.me special built)
    Memroy slot: SD/SDHC
    Connectivity: 802.11bgn WiFi + RJ45 ethernet
    Bluetooth: Yes, V4.0
    Remote: IR remote

I've managed to root it with this file:

    ROOT_Limpieza_Logo_V3.zip

    From this thread

I want to use the box mainly for xbmc, but it does not display true 1080p.
When you set it to 1080p it upscales a 720p image....

So does anyone know if there are any custom 1080p kernels for this thing?

Obviously I would like to install CWM before tinkering with kernels

So is there any kind of "generic" CWM that might be adapted?

I'm going to ask at the JustOp website forums for any recovery image/software,
although an initial glance has'nt found anything...

Possibly this just a rebadge of another box, and someone might recognise it

One other thing, this box only has 2 USB ports (type female), and no microUSB.
How would I connect it to a computer to use something like ADB?
Can I just splice to male USB type A's together?

    Thanks

Why do you think it's upscale? It's true 1080P.

Because it IS upscaling and is not true 1080p - well at least my unit is'nt.

        But just to prove it...

Note that in the android settings under Display - the unit is set to 1080p and the TV does indeed display an (upscaled) image at this resolution.

        1) (Note this is subjective) My Tv is set to 1080p@60 and it displays exactly the same image (desktop) as when it is set to 720p...
Also a 1080p film does not look as sharp when played through the Quadro (set to 1080p) as it does on my Raspberry Pi.

        2) When you go into the config part of Devtools (an app supplied with the Quadro).
It clearly states under "Displaymetrics" - Heightpixels = 720 and Widthpixels = 1280.
See the 1st photo I have taken - you will also see in the top right hand corner that the TV is set to 1080p...

        3) In the VidonXbmc app itself when you click on the "Info" button, it also states "Display Resolution" = 1280*720@60Hz.
See the 2nd photo, and note again in the top right corner that the TV is again set to 1080p

Please can you explain to me how the TV is displaying a 1080p image whilst the apps in question show a 720p image.... if it is not upscaled 720p.

Whilst your video is nice and shows off the resolution of the TV (it's the same video I looked at before I purchased the Quadro) - it does not show either the Devtools Displaymetrics or the Display Resolution in XBMC.

Maybe instead of signing up to a new forum, to try to disprove/defend something, you should check your own forums and answer questions posted there, which were posted almost three weeks ago!!!

You could even try to answer the questions I posted in this forum!!!
Then we might actually be able to get a 1080p kernel working.

I may be wrong about this (weirder things have happened!!!), and If I am I will apologise and retract any incorrect statements.
All you have to do is explain to me how to get both Devtools and VidonXbmc to display the correct resolutions...
