CWM for TvBox MX/G-Box MX2 using Matricom 1.1.6 or similar

    Hi,
I've compiled CWM for this box to be used ONLY with tvboxes runing Matricom 1.1.6 or similar roms (acemax, dualkit's slayer2 custom rom..etc). This cwm doesn't work with earlier firmwares.

What works is the basic functionality:
    Backup
    Restore
    Wipe data
    Wipe cache

Be warned , use the other functions at your own risk, if your box becomes bricked then don't blame me.

Now you can control the cwm with the ir remote that comes with the box, use the up and down arrow to go up and down in the menu, and use the key "backspace" (the first one down in the left) to select the options in the menu.

    How to run cwm:
This cwm works from sdcard, so there's no need to flash it to the box.
Just uncompress the zip in a fat32 formatted sdcard (4gb minimum recommended).
-Insert the sdcard on the tvbox.
-Insert power cable while push and hold the reset button in the av hole with a toothpic until you see the menu in the screen.

    Download CWM by Daemonium

I can confirm that this works very well!

The BACKSPACE key on the MX2 remote is at the bottom of the remote - left hand side next to the ZERO key

Thank you. Dumb question, this will not work with pure Linux version of XBMC? Say Geniatech ATV520?

Thx for your reply. After i made the backup I transfered the sd card to another MX2 I have. So I restored it on that device, then I just rebooted it and tried to turn on my wi-fi in the settings. I didn't change any of the other things. Do you have any ideas? It stays on turning on wi-fi...

if the second mx2 was not on 1.1.6 then restoring your 1.1.6 backup can produce weird things.

Good one, didn't pay attention to it. Well i'll try it tomorrow. I rooted the standard version, does it make sense if i restore my backup on a non rooted one, depending on the wi-fi settings? I let you hear it soon! Thx again

That is the exact firmware that my new device came shipped with, do you have a copy of the older firmware that you are restoring the devices to? I cannot find this anywhere online? Or at least the ones that I do have are not flashing properly?

                          Thanks so much,

                          Zen.
