Help identifying what all this means (newly acquired MX clone box)

Got a generic android tv box from ****, AML8726-MX

I've done a lot of reading, but I'm unclear as to what I can do to this box to make it better. I guess either running Linux or putting a modified firmware. With the info below, am I able to do that and what's my best bet?

you can flash xbmclinux from croniccorey, there's a thread on xds developers.
also you can flash matricom 1.1.6 roms or Acemax's or some custom rom.
I have this one on my box. i worked on this custom.
