CX-919 stuck in maskrom mode.

I recently tried going from the beta Kit Kat rom back to the Finless 1.6 rom and now my device is stuck in maskrom mode. Reading one of Bob's post afterwards, I discovered that I should have used the Kit Kat rom flash tool to wipe the device and then flash with the Jelly Bean flash tool. Is this something that can be only corrected by opening up the device? Thank you.

ok, I just went back into the beta Kit Kat rom flash tool and I was able to reflash my device with the Kit Kat rom. Phew.
