Using my ipad so apols for any stupid ios spelling 'corrections'
It's a great bit of kit, very well made too - just some firmware/software niggles.

I was wondering, as you are going to have a look at the S802 based ROM for the M8/S89, if you might have a peep at the v975m ROM? Should be very similar in many respects.

Surprisingly cheap for what it is!

Has anyone recovered a bvricked v975m yet? I bricked mine after a week and have made a few atemts over the last three weeks to bring back to life. No luck with the SDCARD apps from Finless.

Is opening and shorting NAND the answer?

Opened up shorted pins with 'special' formatted SDcard inserted and no joy still totally dead, no leds light, no screen flicker no nothing.

Check site - Custom ROM discussions - Lead post ( by Rozak ) is his usual placement for all up to date changed files, instructions, etc
Several questions to prepare you and help you decide, to select proper suggested solution ...
V1 or V3 ? / ROM version installed ? Last known good / running version ( custon or Onda or ? ) What version do you choose to be install ?
Several have had success .... a few failures .... Patience and try to stay in proper thread if / when you post anywhere
China BBS sites been hitting site heavy for Rozak stuff and assistance, for past 48 hrs
Good Luck, and hope to see you there

Took me over an hour to get it back last night!

Sorted it out got it functional again. Then started playing with custom tools and bricked it again

I'm getting quite good at restoring now!

For others who have the same problem, these tools are useful

There are two versions, V1 does not have Bluetooth, while V3 does. Mine is on the way

Such good hardware specs ... and then there's the Onda ROM.
It seems with every new Onda ROM release, they create more and different hardware issues.
It seems the 1.1.0v3 issues are reminiscent of previous v1 ROM issues.
Need developers for this kernel , Amlogic M802 and Onda ROM specific.

Well, ONDA v975 and v975M are two completely different things, and the latter is quite good!
