    Pipo U8T RileyROM 1.0

    This is the first ROM for the Pipo U8T tablet. This will not work on the U8, so don't try to flash it on an U8 tablet.

    This ROM is based on the official Pipo Android 4.2.2 firmware dated 1/15/2014.

    I really don't have much to say about this tablet, because I don't know much about it....other that it is just like the U8, except for some variations in hardware...enough of which required a new model name. I do not have one of these tablets, so early testers, please post your results. I'll be happy to make any necessary adjustments based on testing.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted
    Debloated
    Init.d Support
    Busybox Support
    English Default
    2, 4, 6, 8, or 12gb user app space by changing parameter files
    Multiple ko modules for VPN and other networking support added
    Boot Animation by Tattman65
    Reboot app by Petrus
    Updated First Time User's Guide
    Rockchip driver installer app is now included in the kit

    Also, this ROM contains the auto install feature, for installing apk files on the first boot. See this Thread for details on auto install. LINK

    You've got to be susicious haven't you.

    No way would I buy any Rockchip device that has a T on the end of its product name

      I was told that the T doesn't stand for 3188T. But we shall see.

        I ordered this model 2days ago and now I am waiting for the delivery. The main defferences between U8 and U8T is that U8T has a phone call funktion. I am very excited!!!

        Is any chance that there will be a KitKat rom for U8T soon ?

            The T in u8t model name surely means 'Talk' for this phablet that i've not receive yet as well... no more presell for me

              where you ordered this product my friend ?
              i ordered one from a well trusted website on 15-01-2014 in presell but leadtime are always postponed to 15 day more (3 times) and smells like surely the fourth this week

                Hi I ordered it from dealsprime.com and Unfortunatly my order is still "In progress" Today it is 14 days

                I wrote an mail time ago and they said that they inform me when it ships What is wrong with this pipo ???

                    Hello rrileypm,
                    I read your post and I learned a lot...

                    But on first time I did not succeed installed your firmware and I install official firmware. But I got is not the result that expected.
                    1. Changed my serial number and do not know how to return it back.
                    2. Several applications from Google Play is no longer available.


                    You are not faced with this? (more interested in item 2)

                      If you can install my ROM, you should have better compatibility with Google Play Store apps.

                      Can you be more specific about what is going wrong with your installation of my ROM?

                        I will try it now, and I can describe problem in details if it fail again... Give me several minutes.


                        We need flash all checked images (parameter, misc, kernel, boot, recovery, system) ?
                        Or I can flash only "system" image ?

                          How I can see, you ensure compatibility with Google Play through rows in the build.prop:

                          its correct?


                          I still can't install Yandex.Shell ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ex.shell&hl=ru )... but I do not remember, can installed before (before the playing with firmware ).


                          Do you saved original file of "build.prop"? Can you share it ?

                              When I bought a tablet with Google Play had no problems. Therefore, I am asking for the original file "build.prop".


                              Second question - how can I change the serial number on original (have it on warranty card)? after the firmware I see another serial number...
