Gadgetuk, OK after HOURS of chasing down your game Magnetic Soccer it turns out the force close on Openfient has NOTHING TO DO with the changes I made from 2.0A to 2.0B.

It's "magical" and this is the most jacked up UNSTABLE version of Openfient I have now come across!!!!!

Let me explain. So I did the simple thing. I recreated 2.0A and the game force closed on me on Openfient. OK I thought... must be something I did different. So I compared my OLD 2.0A with my recreated 2.0A using a linux tool called Kdiff. They matched exactly even down to file permissions. So that made no sense.

So SCREW IT "I said to myself" , I download 2.0A from FreakTab and flashed it. Sure as hell Openfient worked and did not crash! So scratching my head I tried this cycle all over again. WTF? The second time I flashed the original 2.0A this time Openfient crashed? WTF?

OK so backing up... Remember I told you I had other games with Openfient installed? Well guess what..... If you flash my original 2.0A ROM and DO NOTHING but turn on wireless, install the game, and run it... Openfient CRASHES! I have now repeated that 4 times to be sure.

So Gadgetuk, YOU MUST have installed some other game or used titanium backup or something to get that game to work on 2.0A. Openfiet LIB files somehow got updated from another game! It will NOT work out of the chute on my 2.0A ROM. HOWEVER!!!! If I do a titanium restore which restores other games that use Openfient... SURE AS HELL it runs!
    GO FIGURE THAT ONE!

I have NO CLUE what the deal is here. I will tell you this Openfient is now called GREE. So this game is so freakin OLD and unstable that sorry... I am going back to using the old libc.so as in fact I found other games that run OK with that but wont with the other libc.so. YOUR GAME is the only one that has some serious compatibiltiy issues!

Sorry I could not help but longer term.... I can't chase this flaky INCONSISTANT game and how it works...

Just wanted to add a note about Chainfire. I bought it after I used it on a few games. It seems to repair glitchy graphics on some games. The purchased version gives you the ability to patch per app and hide itself from apps. Doesn't repair gameloft games but makes the ones that run look better.

Thats cool Gamer! Glad to hear that... ChainFire3D never worked on ANY Arnova stock ROMs or rooted ROMs. So I am glad this ROM brings something new to the table

I have also noticed a performance increase with benchmarking tools using ChainFire3D. So for sure it improves GPU performance! Those guys that made it (see XDA for the thread) sure knew what the hell they were doing!

I have asked them for permission to put the free version in my future ROMs. I honestly don't expect an answer since those ChainDD guys are busy as hell, but it sure would be nice to put it in!

OK... Sorry Gadgetuk... I cannot recreate the openfient issue consistently! But I will tell you this. I did get it to work on 2.0B and 2.0C all with both libc.so files. So I can tell you the issue is not with that lib file!

DO NOT ask me how I get it to work sometimes and not others as I do not know what I did. Talk about the flakiest thing I have ever worked with!

So I give up man... sorry....

I just forgot to mention that it crashes if I try to install the experimental "EGL" driver. So bad that you have to re flash. However the xda Site warns about that. If you do use it, make sure you get the plugins.

Hi bob perhaps you miss understood me regarding magnetic soccer...I never got openfeint to work...I have to say no on 2.0a then I can play the game...in 2.0b for some reason it force closed before I got to openfeint so could not even play the game hence why I went back to 2.0a sorry about that if you thought openfeint worked on 2.0a ...I don't have titanium back up I clean install all apps from play store.....have a good weekend

AH OK.... makes sense. I did get openfient to work a few times!!! Just cant figure out why it is so inconsistant. However, once I got it working (a few times) if I changed libc.so back and tried to run it again. Yes the game would not even run. But if your on a fresh flash with no titanium, the game will play on either A or B version. It's just that if the thing ever talked to openfient successfully, after that it crashes on open on 2.0B. If it has never talked to openfient, then it will work.

So whwn you restore with titanium, it restores the openfient files in the dalvic cache so this is why you crash. If you want to go to 2.0C or so on, just do not resotre that apps data. Only restore the app itself.

Well bob I will test it out on 2.0c when you release it.... And if still plays without openfeint then will stay on 2.0c

Hey Bob, not that you are ever wanting to hear about another game from me, but Crime Story is in the market for free and it starts up fine but closes when the actual game play starts. Didn't know if it would help in diagnoses of the other force closings. Any advice on showing you Logcat files would be appreciated.

Thanks for the logcat dump! You ARE THE FIRST to give me this kind of info. Saved me some time

This is odd for sure. Did this game work before on any of my other ROMs or the stock ROM?
Seems they are expecting a very different SQL database manager than what we have. THIS IS NOT in the kernel so can be fixed but I have no clue as to how! This is low level SQL database stuff and I am not a SQL database guy. I understand much of it but by no means am an expert.

I do see in the ROM a few SQL libraries. So let me know if this worked before and I will look into it more.

THANKS for the logcat dump! That's is freak sweet you did that!

Are you kidding? Thank you for all you've done! Logcat is the least I can do. I might flash back to see. I'm trying games for the first time due to the sweetness of the rom. I'll let you know if I do.

Yes please... it would be nice if I knew they worked to begin with. I only have so much to work with (the kernel we have), so it would help a lot to see if it worked before.

I thank you my friend! This is exactly the tesing I need! You and gadgetuk are helping me make a better ROM for everyone. I will put props to you guys in the next release! Getting good testers is HARD!

Oh and Gamer..... when CWM ROM is done... You will be able to go back EASILY to your working Game system WITHOUT flashing a new ROM from your PC. It's freakin great! You WILL love it.

Last comment.... You piss me off I am so hooked on Fragger I cannot believe it! Love the game man. Thank you.

No problem bob...it doesn't take long to try things out.. And it's great to get the best out of your tablet and to show what a budget tablet can really do..if I can help further especially to move to ics with this tablet I won't buy the G3 model as I must admit I like ics...

Alright, I have reflashed to every system you have created for the AN10G2 and Crime Story crashes at the same spot. I have a Logcat for all 4 of them if you would like but I will refrain from putting them here unless you ask for them. I'm afraid it might look like an evil eye test.

Fragger is the best. I would go as far as saying better than Angry Birds (to me). The other boards are a riot.

So, how bout 2.0c seeing that I'm in a flashing finda mood?
