Which do you prefer ------ Android 4.1 or 4.2?

I've been using Android 4.1 ROMs for a while, but today I flashed the 4.2 ROM from Geekbuying.

Antutu scores show that the 4.1 ROM I was using performed slightly better than the 4.2 ROM.

Using Flumpster's Beyond XBMC Beta 3.3, I see almost no difference in video playback performance.

I know that 4.2 has the 5.1 passthrough option while 4.1 ROMs don't...

So, which Android version do you use and why?

4.1, absolutely no contest due to 2dark4u/Omegamoon kernels.

There is no chance I'm running my GPU near 70% slower and have no auto hide navigation bar.

GPU GUI accelation is nice on 4.2, but you can't beat the raw speed a genuine custom kernel provides on 4.1, especially when it comes to XBMC. I have ran XBMC for months at 1080p and 60fps, I could not run it at 30fps like I would be forced to do on 4.2.
    Currently Using:
2 x Nvidia Shield TV | MiniMX III
    Retired Devices:
    MiniMX III-II | Mk808b Pro | Mk808b Plus | Raspberry Pi 1 + 2 | UBOX R89 | MK808 | MK808b | CS008 | X1 4K (rk3288_809) | CYX_809III | Ouya | CX-919 | S82 Plus | Tronstmart R68

and do you use the finless rom or another 4.1 rom? if i read it correctly the 2dark4u kernel can overclock gpu (and ddr)? Then why in the hell would people still want to use android 4.2?

Is that enabled by default, or is there a setting for it? At the moment, I really can't have a wired connection for my MK808B, so overclocked kernels are out of the question.

Since those overclocked kernels were specifically for the MK808, you'll lose wifi and bluetooth if you flash them to an MK808B. Also, the hdmi audio passthrough feature seems to only be on the 4.2 ROM.

Only ever used 4.1 Finless 1.7C on all my devices. I'm amazed how great troublefree it has been to use. Only 'negative' is my fullblown HTPC hardly gets any use now, lol.

It is on by default, has a big impact on things like Live Wallpapers, but won't help things like XBMC.

Right, I vaguely remember this being mentioned on another thread.

Poll is dead even right now -_-

Even without overclocking, I still like the 4.1 launcher much better. Come to think of it, I think someone had a thread about how to use the kitkat launcher on 4.2 --- will have to look into that before I give up on 4.2
