OK folks, I need some organization Confusion 7S / SE

Guys... I do not have a nextbook but all these new versions are confusing me. I use to have them down lik ROM 0811, 0911, 1011, 1211, etc.... but not anymore and I am totally unclear what the heck is what anymore!

I have a new 7p12 SE ROM out now. We have a thread for that YET it is confusing to me what the heck we are talking about? What device? model? etc?

NPRS just dumped me yet another nextbook ROM. What the hell is this device?

Can someone PLEASE start threads for the proper model tablets so we are not all burried in other threads PLEASE.....

This forum for you guys is to help other nextbook users. So organization is going to be important. If one of you can start a thread with SPECS and links for each of these new nextbook tablets so we can have organized convos, that would be VERY helpful. THANKS!

N4RPS here. Finless, your confusion is understandable. My apologies.

With this being my first ROM dump submission, I neglected to provide you with the full details of what's going on concerning this ROM dump. I'm sure you have guidelines concerning ROM dump submission; I must have overlooked them.

For the NextBook, I believe the first six characters of the serial number have been used to identify ROM dumps in the past. In this case the date code of the one I sent you is YF0312.

To provide you with (I hope is) what you need to know to make heads or tails of what was submitted, I have renamed the dumps I sent you via FTP. The -r- suffix stands for 'resistive' touchscreen, and the date code of my tablet is included in the suffix of the filename.

Hope my clarifying all this will help you to help us. UIAM, I see no reason why this dump would not work on NextBook tablets with other date codes with similar hardware specs.

I will go to the new forum and post the specs, as I have them, for the 7S. Later today. Need a catnap before I go to that dreaded 4-letter word - work.

OK the nextbook web siye is still a little skechy but I think I get it now.

The older tablets are called the Premium Series and run GingerBread OS 2.3. SO those I know as I have rooted all the 7" versions of those.

Now they have updated the web site to include the new Prmium SE models and in the 7" ther are:

Nextbook Premium 7 Resistive Screen. Note that even though it is under the SE series, they are not calling it Nextbook Premium 7 SE resistive. The are just calling it the Nextbook Premium 7 Resistive.

Then they list the Nextbook Premium 7SE. It has a capacitive screen.

So... I have supposidly rooted the 7 SE Capacitive?

Thanks for all your hard work rooting these new nextbook devices. I want to root mine, but I have a few questions that I can't find answers for in the forums (I've already looked).

My device is a Nextbook 7p12 SE with ICS, 512MB Ram, 4gb storage, and a captive screen.

My questions are:
1) does the S/N make a difference when uploading a ROM?
2) is there a ROM for a captive screen as well as a resistive screen or just one of the screen types? (I know you can't use one ROM on a different screen type).
3) In order to get a ROM for my device, do I need to send you files or will the ROM's on here work.

I am getting a strange message, that's saying 'unfortunately, system update has stopped' any idea what's causing this?

This actually is a known issue even in the stock ROM. It is an APK I need to remove on my next ROM update.

Read the posts here and someone identified the APK that is causing this.
