Getting Surround to work and possible damaged USB port?

I will post this here now as I think its kind of important and after having read most the posts here I didn't find a solution so far.

What I tried:
- Finless 1.6 & 1.8 - Riley Kernel, I tried some other combos, but they either resulted in boot loops or black screen
- I patched the finless 1.6 ROM with a modified libmedia.so, to no avail
- I tried MX Player, Archos Player and Beyond XBMC

Does anybody have surround working and if yes, what is your set up?

When trying to flash wasser's ROM, I apparently have messed something up with my USB ports on the box. After trying to flash the ROM, which failed (maybe the computer went into standby, not sure - the actual ROM (finless 1.6) still boots up and CWR is also working), it wont recognise the box in bootloader mode anymore...
Anybody had the same and knows a fix?

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, but that didnt work...

I could have sworn surround sound was working I will play with it this weekend I have 3 different boxes so far even with the ugoos not 100% ilike it the best other than the Neo x7 and G-Box MX-2 but this sunday I am dedicating to these devicesi may have a bad flash with the Neo x7.

Try Beyound XBMC by Flumpster.

I tried the Minix x7 and the ugoos also the Midnight MX-2 so both the Minix X7 with quickshot v2 and Beyond XBMC and the Ugoos UT1 also with Beyond XBMC do not play any surround sound so either Beyond XBMC does not support surround sound or the rom maybe both however The MX-2 Does with music all speakers play also.

I was told only the optical out will support surround sound at this time and that beyond XBMC 2.2 has had some success in HDMI pass through im gonna buy an Optical cable today let you know tomorrow

I am using an optical cable, just FYI. I started with Beyond XBMC 2.3, but I cant imagine that Flumpster would have revoked changes that made it work later on.

Also, I have tried with several players, except for the stock ugoos one. But at the moment I am afraid I cant flash any ROM any more...
Anyway, does somebody here maybe have the stock player apk for me to try?
